Is that everything ? I don't see anything that would make me update, except of the possibility of only being able to download Madden with 3.1

it seems to be going faster now.. i finished downloading both 3.1 and itunes9.. installing em now :]

One word: COCOA!

Come on man. Do you really need to do that? iTunes needs to be re-written in Cocoa (like the Finder was in Snow Leopard). Get with it man.

well since the UI is different (and much uglier) it's obvious at a glance that it's not cocoa.

EDIT: and they could have made it 32bit cocoa and it would have the same advantages. 64bit means absolutely nothing for iTunes. A 32bit version would make more sense anyway, since they run the same version of iTunes across multiple OS 10s, so for backward compatibility's sake a 32bit cocoa version would be best.

Weird: When I downloaded 3.1, I got the following notes:

* Improved syncing for music, movies, TV shows, podcasts, and photos1
* iTunes U content organization1
* Redeem iTunes Gift Cards, codes, and certificates in the App Store
* Display available iTunes account credits in the App Store and iTunes Store
* Save video from Mail and MMS into Camera Roll
* Option to "Save as new clip" when trimming a video on iPhone 3GS
* Better iPhone 3G Wi-Fi performance when Bluetooth is turned on

* Option to use Home button to turn on accessibility features on iPhone 3GS
* Warn when visiting fraudulent websites in Safari (anti-phishing)
* Improved Exchange calendar syncing and invitation handling
* Fixes issue that cause some app icons to display incorrectly
* Improves GUI specifically for TheSpaz on MacRumors
* Improves graphics performance as requested by TheSpaz on MacRumors

Ok, iTunes9 and iPhone OS3.1 installed on 3GS ...

Initial impressions ..... not great

- Scrolling in podcast list is almost slide-show like
- Some podcast episodes are in random order rather than chronological
- Opening/Closing cross-fade is jerky
- Chirp sound (plugging in) sometimes misses, sometimes cuts out
- WiFi feels better though

iTunes 9 overall is a much improved app on the plus side....

Care to explain to me why UI means it's not cocoa?
