Ok, iTunes9 and iPhone OS3.1 installed on 3GS ...

Initial impressions ..... not great

- Scrolling in podcast list is almost slide-show like
- Some podcast episodes are in random order rather than chronological
- Opening/Closing cross-fade is jerky
- Chirp sound (plugging in) sometimes misses, sometimes cuts out
- WiFi feels better though

iTunes 9 overall is a much improved app on the plus side....

What opening and closing cross-fade?

Is the iphone version 3.0 compatible with itunes 9? Or do I need to update my phone?

Care to explain to me why UI means it's not cocoa?

Because part of the cocoa hooks are the normal UI. If Apple would adopt cocoa then they wouldn't have to write in the custom UI.

Come on Spaz, you pay for the developer licenses to make you a "developer". So you should know these sort of things. It's developer 101.

Hold down option key when clicking update
Huh? The guy said he doesn't have iTunes so there's no update to click on.

Also when I do this, I am prompted to select a file on my iMac, it doesn't allow me to just download 3.1.

I'm hoping when I download it I get the following:

* Removes GUI specifically for TheSpaz on MacRumors :)
* Increases graphics performance as requested by TheSpaz on MacRumors

Don't forget it also fixes the horrible misaligned text and the obvious display problems, you know, the ones normal people can only see with a scanning electron microscope.

Is 3.1 faster? More responsive? Less buggy?

Why aren't you asking this in the iTouch forum? Actually, why would you ask anyone else these questions? You're the authoritative source, right?

One thing is for sure, if a single pixel is out of place on the 3.1 UI Spaz will make sure we all know about it! :p

Yeah, you're right. My mistake then. I *do* know everything. Good catch.
