If Apple rolls out a iPad Pro with usb-c slot along side the thunderbolt slot and either a SD or mircoSD card slot for additional memory storage, I would shell out the money to buy it.

The biggest thing for me isn't really a feature, but would be an Apple Keyboard case that is backlit and has a trackpad. If that actually occurred I could use the iPad Pro in so many more situations. I know that most likely neither is happening, and until then its not going to be a replacement for a laptop for me. I love my 3rd Gen Pro and really don't see a reason to upgrade beyond that. The performance is great and I couldn't care less about a third camera being added as I don't think I've ever taken single picture with my iPad.

Edit: An OLED screen would also make me want to buy a new one as well...

I think hardware wise everything has been said. My biggest let down is the software. I’m missing key apps from macOS, which I need almost daily for university work. I really hope Catalyst takes off and brings those „Pro“ apps finally to the iPad.
And of course games. I’d love if Apple encourages big game studios to port games to iOS. The hardware is capable of so much more. I just can’t stand those mobile games. Arcade is a great deal... for kids. No real strategy game which is comparable to “Anno”, “the settlers”, “Age of empire”,.... and so on.

Does an accessory count as hardware? I'd love to see a redesigned folio keyboard with trackpad built-in. That's the one thing which would make me seriously consider ditching my Mac laptop.

as others have said, I really want OLED but I also want to be able to change the color profile for it. for example my galaxy tab s6 I can have it natural or vivid and I like vivd... but also I want OLED only if they keep the 120 hz refresh rate

The one hardware thing that I think would be huge is something I’ve been chewing on for a few years now, ever since that expandable Motorola phone that you could sub things on/off.

Built in Pico Projector. The resolution and lumens doesn’t have to be the greatest in the world, but the ability to throw images, videos, notes, anything onto a wall to share them with groups would be amazing. I would happily sacrifice a bit of thinness for that ability.

Another minor note, I would appreciate a second FaceID camera next to the pencil charging port, or moving the FaceID camera off center. If I’m working in landscape my thumb is covering the camera pretty often. That’s a small thing.

1, 2, and 3 -Full mouse support without the stupid accessibility part. Just let me pair a mouse and use it
