Mine hasn't updated yet. Are there release notes or something? What will 3C39 "fix"???

After the update mine are louder. Not that volume was a problem before, just that music I listen to all the time within now louder. Had to adjust volume a bit lower. I’d say about 10-15% louder.

Mine updated overnight. Haven’t tested yet. I would be interested to know if those of you with battery issues are still having them. This is one problem that I didn’t have with mine

Put them in the case on charge after playing them for 10 minutes and just leave them. It may take several hours. Mine updated overnight. It’s a lottery really as to how quickly they update but they will update

When I saw this I checked mine from my iPad. They were on 3C16. They were unplugged, out of their case, hanging at my desk. I plugged them in, still not in their case. Half an hour I checked them on my iPad. They were on 3C39. So obviously updated when I simply plugged them in.

Or leave it out of the case and charge it. That's how mine updated.

So real question is if this update allows for the bazooka battery life while keeping the original conveniences.

I have now switched my phone and iPad to automatic switching. The Headphones still disconnect automatically when they go in the case. Battery has lost 11% in the last 22 hours including the firmware update and 2 hours of usage.
So if as Apple claim, the battery lasts 20 hours that’s 5% an hour loss when using them so if I subtract that 10% for usage then I’ve only lost 1% in 22 hours whilst on standby.

Mine updated over the night while in the case. Took them out to this morning and started listening, and immediately the stuttering appeared.. so guess that’s not fixed..

Still can't get mine to update. Tonight listened to some music, placed it the case while charging. Nothing after an hour. All this while it shows "connected" in the bluetooth. I tried out of the case. Tried both charging at 100%. Nada. I am one of the unfortunately folks that has the extreme battery drain. I am getting close to my return window being over and really wanted to see what this firmware does. I think they sound excellent, I just can't keep them if they are having these issues.
