My Bike Expands.

...no, that's not an innuendo.

This part coming up is gonna be where it starts getting difficult. I think I'll have to model the chassis, and figure out how to build the engine to fit my design. It doesn't have to be truly functional or anything, but it has to look like it is, which means I'll have to figure out which parts of a bike engine are the most important and noticeable, and go from there.

For an old assignment, we had to make a design based on our initials. The brain pieces and milk carton are 3D:

 
Witches Shoes I made for a contest.

Here are some witches shoes I made as part of a scene for a contest. And yes, I know I forgot the eyelet :X

The scene is a bit dark because I didn't bother changing the lighting but you can still see the details (hopefully). The shoes are just mirrors of each other since the contents ends Monday and I'm not even close to done :eek:

Nice engine!

Here's a sculpt I did in ZBrush. It actually is already in a scene and is being textured in Mari as we speak (Click to Enlarge):

Need to sort out the landing gear and a new dish/array... maybes later.

Atmosphere is animated using a png overlay clouds texture set to rotate over the surface texture... produces a rather pleasing effect.

Rendered in Celestia.
 
Great thread, been along time lurker on these here forums, now with something I can actually contribute to!

My main source of 3D work is CAD conversions from solid works, ProE/Creo to Cinema4D, and sometimes to Element 3D for use in After Effects. Here are a couple shots I did last week.

This one was my first test in KeyShot, nice look with only about 10 min worth of work :)

This one was for a 3M video for their industrial adhesives division, too bad they cut this shot from the show after I had finished it :(

This was my first attempt at modeling, created this thing from scratch, its a feed bag taping machine. I'll try to dig up the full animation of it. I knew nothing about modeling before I attempted this. It confirmed that I still know very little about modeling and my respect for people that can do that grew immensely.

Here are a set of Sochi Coke cans x 3. Bear model from turbo squid. rigged and rendered in c4d for european packaging brief. then rendered in c4d Vray for my portfolio.

Nice work farkleboy... nice to see some real work... although some of my stuff is too... heh.

I really need a higher spec mac for this stuff.

Spark Plugs

I'm not a 3D Artist by any means, Just a semi-retired engineer who enjoys modeling and rendering. Been doing this since the mid 80s' starting with POV-Ray. We've come a long way since then.
