So what you're saying is it makes more sense to discuss widgets that have been released in a thread that was started well before any were available that was being used to discuss what people wanted instead of having a wiki thread that was started after the release specifically for widgets that have been released?

Okay.

Personally, I don't care which thread we discuss it in.

why wasn't the other thread made sticky? this one is a mess tbh good for discussion but a mess to find the actual widgets

I agree the one that was made a sticky doesn't make sense to me either. If you want a big list of apps with iOS14 widget support here you go 120+ apps (I created that one and you can suggest others too). A wiki topic like the other one would have made more sense. See my earlier list which has all apps at a quick glance via AppRaven best third party app lists for App Store. No I'm not paid to promote the app but love to make lists in that app for games, widgets and such and help out other iOS users to find e.g. great premium apps, widget and games without those horrible ads, in-app purchases.

Dragging a 3rd party widget to the home screen cause my folders to be deleted. So now instead of 2 pages of apps I have 16! Disaster! How do I get my folders back?

I was just discussing that over in the other thread. Not only did they sticky the wrong one, they completely neutered the other one by removing the original post with all of the app links. Not sure why they didn't just wasteland it as it's pretty much useless now.

Big oof. I read about that a couple of times throughout the beta.

Do you have automatic iCloud backups on? Perhaps you can restore from a recent backup.

iCloud backups are on but it has been backed up since the incident. You would think that it did it on purpose! Is there a way to restore from an older iCloud backup? Or does it have to be the last one?

for me it throws all the folders out of order (on my second screen and pushes half of them to a 3rd page) but doesn't actually delete them (phew) if I add a widget to a stack on the first screen). Not sure why it messes up the order on the other screens that don't even have anything to do with the 1st screen

You have to re-do it manually. I experienced this in one of the later betas... but not since... was a PITA to rebuild.

IPadOS 14 here (have not yet played around on my phone with iOS14 much)

I hope Microsoft outlook will update it’s widget soon.
That one, some news sites and google traffic are very convenient on my iPad

I’m loving the visuals of Night sky and Wikipedia

And those stacks are great and very nice to swipe through with the Magic keyboard

Totally in love with stacks. Prefer the look of Carrot over Native Apple Widget

Agreed! I love that you can also change the color and add different data points. Mine shows wind & chance of precipitation along wiht the high & low. I did totally cave and subscribe for a year (I'm a sucker for this kind of stuff). I have three different Carrot widgets in a stack (the daily, the hourly & the radar).

Why was Readdle able to release their updated apps with iOS 14 features right away then?

Timing, effort, focus?

The fact is, apps had to be recompiled using the GM 14 Xcode... and Apple had to review the apps before they were released...

I can't speak to any Xcode changes from DP8 > GM, but in iOS there were none... so one could assume that there were no changes in Xcode... in which case it was just a matter of recompile and submit to Apple.

Apologies if already discussed but will 3rd party app’s like ESPN or NFL be coming out with widgets down the road or is it only a select bunch of developers that will offer these?

Any developer can make a widget. As to ESPN and NFL, you'll have to ask them if they're going to make one or not.

Wait, you can make custom smart stacks?? How do I do this?
