Nothing. The announcement had nothing to do with any releases. It was just an announcement that they were doing some kind of post WWDC show. As if anyone cares...
Yep, won't be watching.

Put their Youtube channels on "don't recommend this" on Youtube. Last time I watched that Miani guy's channel he was just doing an "expert" analysis on upgrading Mac Pro 5,1 which was nothing more than rehashing knowledge from everywhere else. Hardly ground breaking stuff.

From Gurman, 4-16-23, finally something of interest for WWDC:
"Moving on to the Mac, Apple has several new models in the works: a 15-inch MacBook Air, an updated 13-inch MacBook Air, an entry-level 13-inch MacBook Pro, a refreshed 24-inch iMac, the first Mac Pro with in-house chips and updated high-end MacBook Pro models. All of these should go on sale either this year or in early 2024. There are also two Mac Studio follow-ups planned, but their timing is less clear."

So even if the Mac Pro is too pricey for me, he is dangling hope for a better Mac Studio.

Hmmm the “updated high-end MacBook Pro models” sounds weird to me, maybe he doesn’t have a clue what he is talking about after all? :p

Cause his sources are now contained, so not big difference with speculation here.

Personally I think the MacBook 15 M2 should be introduced late this month or earlier next month as updated m2 ultra Mac Studio (assuming both happens, I'm sceptical about the Mac studio receiving an update this year).

All this because apple needs WWDC23'keynote to introduce not just the ASi Mac Pro (whatever it shapes) also XR/AR glasses and a bunch of new software and AI related projects, indeed for me quite obvious no MacBook introduction, Gurman since his sources are gagged only thing he can put at his newsletter is back-mirror 'prophecy'.

  • Mac16,1 / ASi Mac Pro
  • N3B process / A17 cores
  • M3 Ultra / M3 Extreme
  • WWDC 2023 / ;^p
  • Mac14,14 Mac 14,15 / ASi Mac Pro (assuming mba15 is mac14,13 and there's no Mac studio on M2 ASi)
  • N5P process / A15 cores
  • M2 Ultra / Dual M2 Ultra
  • Trashcan ||
  • WWDC 2023 \o/

Amended, Mac mini m2-pro is Mac14,13

Lol Gurman was the guy who started the dumb rumor that the Mac Studio was going to be discontinued because it was too similar to the Mac Pro. Sounds like he may have actually heard something about a new Studio and is hoping everyone forgot this so it doesn't tarnish his "perfect" track record. Now when the Studio comes out people will just remember the most recent thing he said and he'll be right.

Gurman being Gurman, when he faces his back-mirror speculation about to fail he suddenly amend it to keep this overrated fake track record.
What are the Chinese forums talking about regarding the Mac Pro? Still talking trash can or back to cheese grater speculation?

I find a Trashcan ][ doubtful, there are PCIe cards that need more bandwidth than TB4 can provide, so a tower form-factor ASi Mac Pro with Gen4 and/or Gen5 PCIe slots seems more realistic...

I want a cheese grater with m2 extreme but "Chinese" are bullish on the trashcan II.
I think if this happens means Apple r&d failed to overcome a 4p M2 max and opted to clean the dust on the trashcan, however I had strong cues on AMD working with apple either on a GPU for mp 7,1 or an all New GPU for the new Mac pro 14,xx , I'm confident technically Apple is ready to provide it with discreet ram module capability but the trashcan II drawings not clear about it, so apple may just try to sell it as the Mac studio with everything soldered.
Multiple sources also confirm Apple readies some GPU or compute solution add-on, indeed less likely a pure trashcan would allow it, so the Mac pro should offer some cinectivity for it not just thunderbolt 4, but there are alternative thunderbolt-like apple may opt for an eGPU like solution not thunderbolt based.

I'm moreless like a Year ago, everything its possible.

Just few popular industry solution:

MCIO (an industrial equivalent to thunderbolt but on PCIe5)

Occulink similar MCIO PCIe4 x4/X8.

But Apple may opt for it's own fiber optic based solution, so the pcie slot while cheap it won't prevent apple on being apple.

So a total reversal of everything Johny Srouji said when Apple introduced the M1 Ultra...?
It's different for a mani-core workstation, if you want to understand the Mac Pro you should begin seeing it as what it is, the Mac pro is more like an semi or lorry vs an Ferrari both may have 600hp engines but whole different purposes and cycles.

Read this and repeat it like Jewish praying the Shema every morning: THE MAC PRO IS NOT A GAMING MACHINE, don't expect apple even consider bringing It HW Ray Tracing before mainstream Macs.if such things ever happens likely an accident and not something planned.

Apple marketing also feeds lots of lies their favorite: unified memory, actually every Mac uses discreet RAM just soldered no ram is baked into the main silicon (L2 cache Don't account as RAM, it's just an temporary register). Soldering RAM May save a retimer circuit (often not needed) but it prevents cheap DIY upgrades, neither makes a system speedier.

What makes faster an ASi Mac is its monster L2 cache.
