Why does everyone insist on 5G? What's so special about it? Isn't 4G fast enough for everyday use?

That probably depends on where you use it, how many others use the same cell tower etc. In densely populated areas speeds will often be much lower than elsewhere.

5g is barely in a few U.S. cities and will only be in a few more by the end of the year. Additionally, it will only be in certain areas and neighborhoods of those cities. https://www.lifewire.com/5g-availability-us-4155914

Manufacturers are in pissing contests to confuse customers into buying this years’ phones that have 5G b/c the market is saturated and sales have plateaued.

There is very little benefit to very few people to get new phones that have 5G capabilities.

I’m not saying there’s no benefit, neither am I saying pushes into new markets and technologies are bad for customers, but what I am saying is that for now, for most people, it’s a gimmick. Period.
Exactly. 4G LTE was in Philly to start and we still took like 2+ years to see it in Lehigh Valley PA. 5G is nowhere close to Philly to start so no idea how many decades until it works its way to us.

Also we'll just wait for it to finally get here to get a 5G device, and only if $g LTE start to slow or is dropped. Maybe we will get lucky and LTE will get better if everyone starts jumping ship to 5G.
