That is a nice price. Just wish the case wasn’t so plasticky.

If only someone could get near Apple finish without Apple prices.
Maybe you missed the update regarding the price. It is now $1299 for the 6k Asus.
If you want Apple-finish-design, than the Kuycon could be your choice. The 6K Kuycon G32P costs ~$1799-1899+VAT

Still better than what we'd pay for a 6K Apple screen it must be said. I do like the Apple 6K screen but not enough to give them my money for one (or two of them). So I have a couple of 5K screens, one Apple Studio 5K and the LG 5K.

I just did a double take, I've seen similarities but wow!

On the subject of the 6K Kuycon G32P: The monitor certainly won't work miracles, but let me put it this way... I still use my 5K Dell UP2715k, which I bought in 2015 (back then for €1000), every day. Next to it are my two Apple Studio Displays, which I've had for 3 and 2 years and for which I paid €1,950 and €1,715.

The picture difference between the Demm (10 years old) and the ASDs (3 & 2 years old) is not that big. All three have an awesome picture for me, especially because all 3 have a glossy screen!

The Kuycon G32P (because it is almost 10 years younger) will probably not give a worse picture, but it offers 6K and slightly better technical values AND also has glossy coarting *YEAH*!

What happened to the 8k monitor?
It has a page on the ASUS global site, and the English User Guide is available to download. But it isn’t yet on the US or other regional sites. The panel is different from the 5K and the 6K. It has a 4,032-zone Mini-LED backlight, and true 10-bit color.

The price isn't a rumor. In April, ASUS did a local press release that said it would be available for pre-order in mid-June in Manila at a local partner and announced the price: PHP 500,000. That's around USD 8,750.

I don't think it has shipped. I think they announced the pre-order price early to let potential customers know this isn't like the others. Otherwise it would have been reasonable (given $799 for the 5K, $1299 for the 6K) to expect it would be no more than $2499 or so.
