Got the 64Gb. Currently using 36Gb on a 128Gb 7+ with everything local. If I ever feel the pinch Settings is telling me I can save 9.97gb offloading photos and 5.06 offloading unused apps. Don't think it'll be an issue.

64gb ordered. Way more than I have ever needed. I never exceed 25gb on my X.

I'm only using 32 out of 64gb on my current phone.. but I'm just getting started adding music (I previously used a USB stick in the car, but am starting to use my phone more. Plus audio books!). So while I would have preferred a 128gb option, I ordered 256 so I don't feel constrained later on.

I could easily do with 64GB, but I like to store all my photos offline. I currently use 221GB out of 256GB, 191GBs are photos.
So do I and I have a WD MyCloud 3TB in my home office that stores them.

Went with the 64. I don't need much storage at all as I use iCloud for music and photos. Hoping I can adjust to the Max size after coming from an X.
Besides the new HEIC format for photos reduces the storage requirement

256 this time on the Xs Max.Went 64 on the X last time and would probably be fine with it on the Max,but with the small difference in the monthly payments I think it’s worth it not to have to worry about it.Usually the larger sizes have a little faster read and write speeds as well.

but what about all this talk about lower storage options not being as fast or booting up as fast as higher storage options.. I came across a post last night about data transfer being slower blah blah. kinda had me worried. I'm on the fence about the 64GB but if there's really no difference I just might place my order tonight..

I don’t buy into that. You certainly wouldn’t notice a difference either. Just people trying to mess with ya.

64GB for me. I never use up more than 64GB and if I do I already use the $0.99 iCloud 50GB cloud storage.

I went with a 64gb after coming from 256gb 8 Plus. Only using 37gb and don’t really game etc. So I think I will be fine.

I ordered 256gb. Not because I needed the storage, but because I wanted the speed. If you go back to any year last and look at the storage benchmarks, the bottom tier offering is always somewhat slower due to less striping across multiple storage “blocks” in the memory. The larger the memory, the more pieces there are to hit at the same time I think. The medium and large are always faster and about the same in speed.

Faster LPDDR5 (?) and UFS3 (2X the bandwidth) should start arriving next year.

And those are two areas Samsung owns.

I used to get super storage but then I realized i mostly use iTunes match and spotify for music, and I don’t take a lot a pictures. So I decided not worth paying the extra monthly charge for 256 and ill make do with 64.

I have a 256 8+ right now and have ordered the 256GB XS Max. I’m only using about 100GB of space currently but plan to have the Max for at least 2 years so want to have room for the future.

Could never go back to 64GB and whilst 128GB would be enough for me on paper I wouldn’t be able to add anything for 2 years so was an easy choice for me.

Frankly the way it is going I’ll probablt need/want a 512GB phone during my next upgrade.

We all know 128gb is the sweet spot for many of us mac rumors people. I refuse to pay for iCloud storage. I back up my full size photos to my portable hard drive once a month. I back up my iPhone photos to google photos (I know it’s not full size) but it’s good enough.

Saying all that. I currently have 19gb left in storage.

But I always delete my iMessages cause iMessages can get out of hand.

I plan on keeping XS max for 2 years so 256gb it is for me.
[doublepost=1536973953][/doublepost]Just checked. Fornite game takes up a whopping 3.1gb. Geez. I keep a few games for my kids when they want to play on it and they don’t bring their iPads.

That’s crazy for one game to consume 3gb storage.

I just checked my usage, I’m at 39GB now, about 10G more in podcast storage than I want. All my photos are housed mainly in the cloud. I just preordered the 64G. There is always the option of putting 512G on you new iPad.

Depends on your needs. I ordered one with 512 GB, because for the first time I can get all my lossless music files on my iphone. They are around 256 GB worth of ALAC files. Interesting is that my identical FLAC copies are only 236 GB.

Went with the 64 for myself and the 256 for the wife. Started streaming most of podcasts and I offload pictures fairly often. Had my X for a year and still have 40gb free. Wife is completely different story.

If you can spend $1,100 for a phone then you gotta be crazy not to pay alittle more to make it a decent spec.

256gb/512gb or nothing.

I don't think almost 200$€ more is "a little". Since I paid the full price upfront it makes a difference (at least to me it does).
