Far cry 3 results below

First off I'm using fraps, the iMac is not loud and I'm quite impressed regarding the results through bootcamp

Specs
i7 3.4Ghz
680mx
No fusion

Vsync is off

So at 1440p with everything on ultra, but no AA it averages at 20fps

At 1080p with everything on ultra no 2xAA it averages at 40fps, dipping to 30-35 at times

Tell me if you want me to modify the settings in any way

How do games look at 1080p with the new iMac screen? Does it seem blocky or does it fit ok, not making it obvious it isn't the native resolution?

To be honest,it looks the same, which looks fantastic

Ah, did you have physx on? o_O Also, was it just strolling through casually, or was that also measured with a lot of activity on screen etc? Lastly, are you using Apples drivers, or nvidias?

It wasn't like full on explosions, but there was gunfire and a bit of action, I'm using apples drivers, and I'm not sure about the physx

Did you boot camp with an external dvd drive or usb?

I had no idea either, if you have the windows install disk just do what ever this says, it's what i used :)

You don't have to do all this. If you attach an external cd/dvd drive to your iMac, just pop in the Windows 7 install CD, open up the Bootcamp utility, and then just select install Windows 7, and then you're done! You don't have to install from USB. However, it's a good idea to burn the install disc .iso using disk utility to USB, just in case you end up losing the disc in the future. I would keep a spare copy of the .iso on an external hard drive just in case.

Any chance to test Witcher 2? This one is supposed to be a GPU killer.

As for settings, I guess get the best you can with around 30FPS.

Thanks in advance

I'm confused about this driver talk? Beta drivers etc.

Do we use the drivers apple use for bootcamp? And then install others ? :S

Any videos of gameplay ?

This may be a silly question but is there a site where I can compare my "soon to arrive" 680MX to my current (and very crappy) NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150?

I'm sure they differ by leaps and bounds but I was just curious and wanted to see what kind of revolution I was in store for. :p

If You don't mind that it's in German:

The columns are (from left to right): Vendor-Series-Model, the 6150 is located under "Geforce IGP"

I can test Battlefield 3 later today, if the download queue moves forward.

I will try Crysis, Stronghold 3 and the Heaven and Speed Sled demos. Not benchmarks, just impressions.

Gorgeous machine, I'm loving it.

Not the most demanding game, but I threw Diablo 3 at the iMac with best settings in 1440p, as expected, no problems ; ) Can't wait to check out Far Cry 3 once I have Windows up and running.
