I don't get why some people say Android phones still have poor build quality. This isn't the Galaxy S through S5 days anymore when it was still questionable. Go on GSM Arena or check out phones from Chinese OEMs. The build quality has improved. Many use glass or metal too. You can't compare budget Androids to most iPhones and say Android has cheap build quality. In fact, compare the designs and premium of Android phones from 2012 vs 2016 and you can see the improvement. The only negative side is alot of them are starting to look the same with a fingerprint button on the back. Waiting for LG to finally release the fingerprint scanner within the screen itself.

It sure wasn't just a homescreen when you were complaing about it. Oh it's too cluttered, ugly, etc. Why is it only just a homescreen now?
It was always a homescreen to me....you are the one talking as if it is some massive artistic project lmao.

Yes Android can be customized to whatever you want it. That's a great thing. However, if I am going to make my phone for example look like a WIndows Phone (btw Windows phone launchers are crap for Android) or IOS or whatever, I may as well just get the phone I am trying to emulate.

Why bother trying to make Android into what it isn't and settling for an OS that even beyond my visual dislike of it, I despise the OS entirely lmao.
We are mainly just discussing opinion though, and nothing else. I like windows mobile, I wish Google would put some of their apps on there, I'd be happy with just google voice. I'm still holding out hope for a surface phone next year.

I am thankful I cut the court on all things google (outside YouTube) and I am not tied to their services and I can enjoy Windows 10 mobile as it should be. Microsoft services work better with it anyway (of course lol)

I am of course down for the surface phone but the new HP elite X3 is still a great phone and I believe the specs are better than most if not all current android phones.
Same business plan as all companies have......Get as much data as you can to present advertisements specific to their customer base. ALL companies do this. The search company behind Siri does the same thing. Your web browsing right now is tracked by cookies and then reported back and forth. Then ads specific to sites you visited pop up in your browser.
So don't use Google then..........

Difference is, my data isn't Microsoft primary source of income. Nor apple's.
Google however relies on that majorly and I do not trust the company.

I don't need your permission to not use Google. I already have skipped over google for nearly everything in my life.

Because a phone uses metal, plastic, glass, whatever isn't indicative solely for its build quality. Personally I prefer the polycarbonate of my Lumia 950 XL. I find it durable and good feeling in the hand. Many find it cheap.

Many android phones even with their 'premium' builds are often built quickly, made cheaply and result in various hardware defects found on many different models.

Yeah, you are living in a dream world. You think Microsoft gave you a free Windows 10 upgrade and started mining all your data back to their servers 1000s of times a day while pushing ads and "suggested" Cortana commands for fun? For your benefit?

Just silly to trust one major corporation with your data vs another. They all just want money from your data. One is not different than the other. It is naive to think otherwise.

I've been using Windows 10 both on desktop and mobile and I have not had
- Microsoft pushing ads to me.

- Nor suggested Cortana commands.

What it is hilarious is when people get defensive when you call Android malware ridden, laggy, ugly, a weak OS and an incomplete package (All of which many ways are true for MANY androids, not all) but many of the same users are quick to make critical comments about Windows as a WHOLE which many users actually never had any issues with. They speak as a whole for Windows but get defensive if you do the same thing about Android. That hypocrisy and double-standard is deliciously hilarious to me.

With that being said, I never said I trusted one more so much as I chose the lesser of two evils. Google is still far shadier in my opinion. I am not as concerned with Microsoft but I am aware Microsoft does have access to my data but it is not utilized quite as vulture like as it is with Google.

That is my opinion and that is why I don't use google. Deal with it and stop trying to tell me why I am wrong for choosing to use another company (which is hilarious considering many of the same people who like Google/Android are always talking about choice and options lol). I guess it is only okay if you choose google's way of life and if you choose alternatives, that is bad and people will try and tell you your reasoning is wrong lol.

I'm happy to say that i have no google data collecting services. I use duckduckgo for search, adblocking everywhere where they deserve to be blocked, VPN. Works great.

If iPhone 7 looks anything like this with a 32gb base model, capacitive home button, water resistance, capacitive, wireless charging, and space black option, I will return using an iPhone like LeBron returned to Cleveland...

black-iphone-7-martin-hajek.jpg

Back to iPhone as a daily driver as a 'phone' after five years, but not exactly exclusively. My other phones will make up the lack of iOS features and space unless I change my mind and get the 128gb option. The iPhone isn't really catered as a media player for me. That's for my Androids and iPad to do. I want it to have one different sim for my Android, WP, and iOS. Family is better than going solo.

I don't care about iMessages or locked down ecosystems. Speed and battery life differences shouldn't be that different to my current phones either with probably a 70 hr rating for iPhone 7 on GSM Arena with double-double hrs on video and web. I will use iPhone mainly for camera, games, and Wi-Fi hotspot for my other phones.

Right now, my reliable Lumia 640 does the Wi-Fi hotspot for me and it has a wonderful camera and reception for its price. But I don't really like Viber for WP, has missing apps, and UC Browser on WP is good but not as nice as browsing on iOS. I want to fulfill a prophecy I told myself six years ago.. 7 would be my next iPhone I truly wanted after 4.

I don't use viber myself....but upgrade to Windows 10 if you haven't already. The update for the Viber for Windows 10 (I think it is also a UWP) is pretty good actually from what I've read.

In fact many apps are now on Windows 10 that weren't on WP 8 (or at least the updated and more full featured versions anyway) and counting.
Family is better than going solo.
I agree to an extent.

My Lumia 950 XL and My IP 6S plus are a great pair(more so than my horrid Nexus 6P with the Lumia).
That being said, by September I will know for sure if I wish to stick with Apple for good or go back to WIndows 10 mobile exclusively.

I don't need a family of smartphones.....one phone to rule them all ( and I'd prefer that to be WIndows 10 mobile since it is the better OS of the 3, imo). I have a family within the ecosystem though I suppose if I go IOS full time, I may actually extend and open myself up fully to the apple ecosystem. I am not opposed to dropping WIndows 10 desktop (I love it though) for Mac aside from the fact I couldn't ever go to a non-touchscreen laptop. It's tragic lol

Woah.... you actually are crazy. Like scary crazy. No one is getting defensive or telling you want to do. Enjoy my blocked list because you honestly scare me.

As much as I would like to agree with you but that statement is simply untrue. Some of the Android devices are really built solid and I can vouch for companies like Samsung and one + on the last few iterations of their devices.

So let me get this straight.
I used the word MANY(not all) and you use Some....which is also not all and also indirectly is agreeing with me.
Okay, just wanted to put that out there.

As far as Samsung goes, I have to disagree. Some of the word designed and built phones I've ever seen in my life.

If the iphone slims down it's bezels and has a better screen to phone size ratio then I'm all in as well. Of course no one knows yet, but all signs point towards the screen being the same 5.5" with the same exact bezels and the regular old home button. The iphone 8 is the one to be excited about.

Nothing wrong with getting the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8.
