Just updated to 8.1.1 and jailbroke my 6+. Everything seems to be running fine

FYI - updated to 8.1.1 and re-jailbroke. Sprintomize doesn't work on 8.1.1... I get an error message on start-up saying "Springtomize doesn't support this iOS version"

I'm on 8.1 jailbroken. If I want to update and restore my backup how do I do?
You don't have to restore or apply your backup. You can just do a regular update to 8.1.1 in iTunes. That will remove the jailbreak. Then run TaiG.

Really? I've never tried that i would recommend a full DFU restore everytime.
I always thought the Update would fail if trying to install on a JB device.

Works for me. Plus all of my tweaks from 8.1 are working on my iPhone 6 Plus!

I am glad for these bug fixes in 8.1.1!

Which bug fixes, in particular?

I believe that updating via iTunes is fine; they don't recommend jailbreaking with an update that was taken OTA.

Why didn't MacRumors report on this new jailbreak already? I like that MacRumors reports on the latest legit jailbreak available, but they're often pretty late.

Enjoy, if for some reason you refuse to use 8.1 :)

Mirror for download

8.1.1 has bug fixes, so this is good news. My cousin was complaining that 8.1 has a glitch where the keyboards won't show up.

I haven't had any glitches on the apple keyboard but swiftkey is still a glitchy mess for me

Why must I always correct people?

Facts:
1. The exploit used by TaiG was already known to Apple and patched in 8.2 Beta 1. It was either used now or never. It was stolen from i0n1c months ago.

2. The main improvement for iOS 8.1.1 over 8.1 is the reduced size of the system partition / over the user partition /var. In other words, you get back a couple hundred megabytes of space. This is also seen in the download size of 8.1.1 over 8.1 (~1.5GB vs 1.7GB).

3. Apple always places patches and fixes into releases that aren't announced in release notes. (Either they are too minor to be listed or too complicated for your grandma to understand. Yes, that is the bar.)

Remove the Substrate entry for Springtomize in iCleaner. This will diasable that popup. When it is updated, make sure you re-enable the entry before you update.

The popup isn't the issue, the issue is that the tweak doesn't work. LOL

Yes. Can you post any pissed off tweets from i0n1c? I'm pretty sure he's just as upset about this as he was with Pangu when they jailbroke 8.x.

If he wasn't going to release the jailbreak then absolutely I'm glad they used it, both times.

Keeps him from sitting on it and bragging he found an exploit and refusing to release it (if that's what he did or planned on doing).

Is this wasting another jailbreak with 8.2 coming up around the end of the year?

I dont get this either.
Why waste more exploits to JB a 8.x.x version and a pointless beta version?
Why not wait a few weeks at least till 8.2 is out?
What was really the point of this JB to be released with 8.1 still signed?
Doesn't make any sense to me....

That is a very bad idea and I wouldn't go around telling people to do that.
If you don't know or want to risk it go for it but if you dont know any better don't try to give advice like that please.
Thanks.

8.2 already blocks the exploit for 8.1.1.

So no harm done.

I thought Taig JB the latest 8.2 beta.
How do we know that the final 8.2 would have blocked it? Well for sure now it will block it:D

Apple juiced are you gonna take the 8.1.1 leap eventually ?

No, I don't see any benefits to it.
Everything runs fine on my JB 8.1 6 Plus so I don't see a reason to try to fix what's not broken:)

Why wait at all? Ugh that's the one thing I miss about Android development. The devs didn't use exploits as a crutch to fall back on, they tried to hack every update.

Android vs iOS is like a plastic zip tie vs a master lock to keep your door safe.

Any idea what the second checkbox is during the jailbreak?

their version of the app pangu installed. look it up, they talk about it on various other sites
