I'm not even going to bother with 8.1.1. I finally have 8.1 running beautifully with WiFried installed! It's solved so many issues. Now, not only WiFi, but my iPhone in general is running so smoothly. I'll wait till 8.2 or above.

8.1.1 Jailbreak available

their version of the app pangu installed. look it up, they talk about it on various other sites

Not really. OEMs really stepped up their game on Android. I bet some of the newer phones are quite a bit more difficult to cracked than ios even now.

There are some immensely talented developers on the Android side.

Really? I've never tried that i would recommend a full DFU restore everytime. I always thought the Update would fail if trying to install on a JB device.
It won't fail - it will update and wipe out your jailbreak. I used to do DFU restores to factory settings when updating back in the days of the 3G/3GS just because people said you should. Then I noticed that a lot of people were just updating. I figured I didn't have anything to lose because I could restore if I experieced any problems. It worked fine and I've been doing it that way ever since. You need to use DFU if you want to remove all traces of the last jailbreak, but I don't think that matters if you're just going to jailbreak again.

I'm getting a large number of sandbox related (and others) issues in the system logs (under privacy -> diagnostics and usage) with this new jail break. I'd get a few errors with Pangu on 8.1 (but none of them were sandbox), and it seems now with the TaiG jailbreak there are far more.

I only upgraded just in case Apple stopped signing 8.1, I'd be current (not that I was having any issues anyhow). Either way, anyone else having sandbox and other random issues popping up in their logs?

Nope I'm not getting any on my 6. I restored as new, not from backup. Not sure what you did?

The only logs im getting is for JetsamEvents which are low memory logs. But I was getting wayyyy more on 8.1 with Pangu. I was getting many of those per day. But on 8.1.1 I have only had 3 of them which is a significantly reduced number. So far so good!

Why wait at all? Ugh that's the one thing I miss about Android development. The devs didn't use exploits as a crutch to fall back on, they tried to hack every update.

As someone equated, hacking android vis-a-vis iOS is breaking into your own padlock versus breaking into a prison. Both are doable, one has a bit more difficulty.

8.1.1 Jailbreak available

Oh well tried to respond to bumpyflatline but guess it didnt work - anyhow i restored fresh then from my backup which was basically just my apps, etc. ive had a few sandbox errors as well as ones related to imessage (i think). Had the imessage ones even on 8.1 with pangu so i have no idea whats going on.

iOS 8.1.1 didn't add anything for the 6 and 6 Plus so I'm content sticking with 8.1.

8.1.1 seemed to fix the issues with 3Rd party keyboards not loading or taking too long to load. Who knows what else it fixed. Someone 'bug fixes' are not listed in the change log.

Neither one keeps someone truly evil from getting in. I hate locked down hardware. All it ever does is

1. make my life hard when I least need to deal with such BS.

and

2. obsolete perfectly good hardware when I could have flashed it into something useful. IT IS WASTEFUL.

No sandboxes... just some ExcResource_*appname* with a couple apps. Had a couple JetsamEvent on 8.1 Pangu. nothing like that so far tho.

On the contrary. The trend is now to allow the phone to be completely unlocked at the choice of the consumer. Sony is the latest example.

That's very strange. I'm thinking it might be due to your backup but that's just wild speculation on my behalf. Not really sure what could be causing this for you. Really strange.

I'm only updating to 8.1.1 to get rid of the error logs issue on my iPhone 6+ and the wifi issues.
Those were finally fixed right? Lol
Is there any word on the 8.1.1 jb app getting a translation? Also they doing updates in Cydia like previous hacks have?

Maybe two years ago. Not anymore.

I have like 70 of those jetsam things lol. Could it be from having so many tabs open in Chrome? Chrome crashes quite a bit when I have a ton of tabs open. I'm on Pangu btw.

Ok so go check all Samsung and LG phones currently on Verizon and AT&T. Guarantee you won't find any that are close to unlockable.

Are the errors actually fixed or just the logs reporting them because I have a ton of those jetsam ones and weather widget ones.

Knox and Lollipop would like to have a word with you

That's interesting. I hadn't heard of Knox, I've been reading about it just now. It seems like a good idea for some companies/organizations. I would argue that it's not a product directed at consumers though, and I certainly wouldn't buy one.

I dont get this either.
Why waste more exploits to JB a 8.x.x version and a pointless beta version?
Why not wait a few weeks at least till 8.2 is out?
What was really the point of this JB to be released with 8.1 still signed?
Doesn't make any sense to me....

That is a very bad idea and I wouldn't go around telling people to do that.
If you don't know or want to risk it go for it but if you dont know any better don't try to give advice like that please.
Thanks.
I disagree. I've been doing it that way for years and have never had a problem. I know other who do as well. Worst case, if you do experience a problem, just restore like you would have in the first place if you hadn't used this method. Have you ever actually tried it and had a bad experience? Do you restore to factory settings every time you rejailbreak or do you use your backup that was made on a jailbroken device?

I won't go into details but just because you didn't have problems it doesn't mean others won't.
What you're posting and suggesting goes against many jb dev groups that know about code and the jb process.
So do whatever you want but try not to suggest to others cause you can pursue them to do it the opposite and wrong way trusting you that you know better.
