Seeing all the complaining here makes me realize why Apple was so much tighter about letting people install betas in the past.

Betas are betas. Stuff will be broken. We pay the price of possibly broken stuff to get to try new features early.

REPORT bugs to Apple, and mention them here.

DO NOT bitch about the bugs, and whinge saying "Apple can't do ____ anymore!" these are betas. Save that whinging for when the problems happen in the final release.

Starting my Beta 3 battery test now.

Seems to be a lot more background activity going on compared to 9.3/9.3.1. Don't know how thats going to translate to battery life, but it appears it will be less than Beta 2. Its pulling a lot more current on idle.

Perhaps it's not all a simplistic as it might sound to some.

You're missing the fact that this is an iOS regression. Previous iOS versions were smooth, even on hardware with just a fraction of the computing and graphics power. Basic simple animations, on blindingly fast hardware, should not stutter. Remember how critical the Apple crowd used to be about Android UI responsiveness issues?

Like I said, perhaps it's not as simplistic as it might seem.

Any good reason to jump on this beta?

Still hanging on to 9.3.1 because there's literally nothing interesting with this release.

Appears the animation lag is gone (based on 5 minutes of use)

Hey! People said the same thing about 9.0.1, 9.0.2, 9.1, 9.2, 9.2.1, 9.3, and 9.3.1!

Every.

Single.

Thread.

Changing one line of code can have its effect elsewhere. This is after all, as no-one has mentioned already, a BETA.

The iTunes Store thing for clearing applications cache is gone. When I press RENT, it asks my Apple id's password.

Hello everyone. Do anybody see some stutter or lag for this beta? Beta 2 was much stutter and lag.

Haven't seen any so far, but with beta 2 the stutter and lag would often appear out of nowhere. One moment it was smooth, the next it was stuttering.

Supposedly the stutter has something to do with auto-brightness. Read the beta 2 thread.
I don't know. I never had stutter with the auto-brightness on Beta 2. I even attempted a dozen times to get it to trigger by using a flashlight in a dark room. But I did have stutter throughout the device with Beta 2.

Don't give me the "It's a beta!" crap again. I've seen betas and then I've seen the final version be exactly the same. Why would this "beta" be any different.

9.3.2 is going to come out and it will be worse than 9.3.1 and people will put up with it and then forget what iOS used to be like because now they're used to the stutters and just accept it as "normal" over time.

Indeed. If Apple knew how to do smooth ios they would.

They used to... but Steve Jobs was a perfectionist and probably wouldn't let it go out any other way. This isn't the same Apple that it used to be.

Is that why there were also various kinds of different issues with some OS X and iOS updates under Jobs as well?

Apple sure isn't the same old company. Just look at the stock price over the last year smh

I don't look at a stock price to see how a company is doing product wise. Stock is solely based on how much money they make and if estimates and speculations are met. Thats the problem with the stock market. Apple could have record sales but "it wasn't good enough" for spectators and the stock plummets. Has happened multiple times over the last 3-4 years.

Their stock is down 7% today because they sold 51.2 million phones instead of 61 million. The market has capped, and yet they sold 51 million devices. But thats not good enough. Its just stupid.
