Perhaps it's not all a simplistic as it might sound to some. Why can't Apple make a smooth OS anymore?

Like I said, perhaps it's not as simplistic as it might seem. You're missing the fact that this is an iOS regression. Previous iOS versions were smooth, even on hardware with just a fraction of the computing and graphics power. Basic simple animations, on blindingly fast hardware, should not stutter. Remember how critical the Apple crowd used to be about Android UI responsiveness issues?
Appears the animation lag is gone (based on 5 minutes of use)

Happy birthday guysWe have the same birthday! Happy birthday to us!
I don't know. I never had stutter with the auto-brightness on Beta 2. I even attempted a dozen times to get it to trigger by using a flashlight in a dark room. But I did have stutter throughout the device with Beta 2.Supposedly the stutter has something to do with auto-brightness. Read the beta 2 thread.
Indeed. If Apple knew how to do smooth ios they would.Like I said, perhaps it's not as simplistic as it might seem.

Is that why there were also various kinds of different issues with some OS X and iOS updates under Jobs as well?Don't give me the "It's a beta!" crap again. I've seen betas and then I've seen the final version be exactly the same. Why would this "beta" be any different.
9.3.2 is going to come out and it will be worse than 9.3.1 and people will put up with it and then forget what iOS used to be like because now they're used to the stutters and just accept it as "normal" over time.
They used to... but Steve Jobs was a perfectionist and probably wouldn't let it go out any other way. This isn't the same Apple that it used to be.
Yeah. And they weren't so terrible and didn't last as long as they do nowadaysIs that why there were also various kinds of different issues with some OS X and iOS updates under Jobs as well?
Apple sure isn't the same old company. Just look at the stock price over the last year smh
