No and no. At 98% your battery life is pretty much "as good as it gets". I have 90% and do not see getting the battery replaced as worth it. Some here have actually reported that replacement battery (even from Apple) does not perform as well as original in long run. Few % is not worth anyone prying open the phone, which is basically glued together. 10-15%, may be. More than 20%, oh yes...
And No, they will not hand you battery. Apple position is that battery are not user serviceable anyway. So they will not supply you with battery.

The Xs isn't eligible for $29 battery replacement.

Apple needs to keep the old battery during the replacement service.

USD 29 offer isn’t valid on XS.

And with a XS they probably won’t change it to your whim until they feel it is a failed battery or something.

That program is only for X or older.

A battery replacement on a 3 month old device just because you can?

I’m pretty sure that if Apple offered $5 battery replacements some people would literally get a new battery every week.

Im wondering how an XS has already dipped to 98%. I got one on launch day and have charged it everyday sometimes twice a day depending on heavy usage and Im still at 100%.

When I saw this topic pop up on my notifications, I just rolled my eyes. Glad to see most people on this thread have common sense thinking.

Hello,
I would like to ask a question. I got my XS three weeks ago and I have been charging it basically whenever I feel like it (I do not wait for the phone to get to 20 % or less). I have decided to do so, after reading numerous "guides" on how-to charge the phone and reading Apple's information regarding the charging of the phone. However, I just noticed that my battery health is at 99 % already and it hasn't even been a month. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? I am charging with the charger that I had from my iPhone 4S (it was my last iPhone and after asking several retailers, they said it is fine to charge it with that). The reason I am not using the charger from the box is that I got the phone from the US and I live in Europe, so the charger is different.
[doublepost=1547664670][/doublepost]The average screen time that I have for th last week is around 2h and 47 min.

yes thats normal....If it was like 1 year old phone and you only drop down to 99% then there is something wrong.

My X is over a year old and percent is still at 100 - can't complain about that I guess

My XS Max from October is still 100%, but I'm constantly charging it throughout the day with a wireless pad.

Literally every second that goes by, every lithium ion battery on planet earth degrades just a little bit more whether it's being used or not. The slope is always downhill. The iOS battery health percentage indicator is only an estimate and provides a "best guess" within a few percentage points. There's no method known that can accurately determine battery health within a single percentage point (or maybe 5).

So use it as a general guide to observe trends. Don't pay much attention to the actual number (until it drops below 90%)

I disagree. That’s kind of weird to have 1% already off the battery. I’d keep an eye on it and bring it in near the end of the first year. It’s a 1000 dollar phone id be pissed at this point.

For my cheapo 600 xr, I wouldn’t sweat it lol.

Did you read the above info? The battery being at 99 doesn’t point to any particular issue at this point. Battery health is an estimate. There is no need to panic someone when you can’t even point to a trend. You need two datapoints to have a trend.

My XS Max showed that after 1 week, back to 100% now. Those stats are meaningless and estimates, not true values.

Don’t believe in reading. Or trends. Or data.
