Yes i'm not saying don't make a fuss i am saying don't run away crying and buy a PC just because you have a faulty unit. Keep demanding one until you get it right. If nothing else Apple realize more that there is an issue with the samsung panels. Also i'm sorry but please stop saying all MBPs are the same. Mine is fine and i had my screen calibrated. No issues with mine whatsoever so its only some MBPs that have a fault
Have you understood that the purchase of a MBPro has turned into a Russian roulette game? And Apple has done nothing to prevent it!
Regarding the crying issue, well getting into the PC side, is done as a final attempt to show Apple that we unsatisfied users mean business, if you dont fix, then we go with the competitors!

You do realize that Apple does not actually produce and manufacture the LED screen used in the MacBook Pro?

I still think I would keep taking them back - who knows what you might get after 6 attempts! I have heard of people getting an upgrade just because they got some lemons.

Having said that, I doubt you'd be missed here if you went and got a PC :)

Well i know over 30 people that have bought a MBP and all have had no issues. So please tell me where you base your facts and figures to say so many of these machines are faulty?

Do you honestly think if the problem was so widespread that Apple would just sit on their ass laughing at you?

Clearly the issues you see splattered here are not as widespread as your overactive mind would like you to believe. Believe me i am not saying crappy and dud units exist and i do believe there is a trend for these screens but seriously your responses are unfounded and over reactive. You got a nuclear shelter in your garden by any chance? just incase of attack

Yes of course i do realize. A solution could be to check the displays before you send them to the customer!

Pressure please read the thread. I have tried to explain this to people but its in one ear and out the other....

Oh yeah because apple are going to power on and calibrate/color test every screen when they are churning out millions......

Well, if Zoran doesn't buy another Mac, then that's one less they have to check. Then they can spend that time checking all the others.

Ooorrrr we could wait until this batch passes. It's not like sending out a replacement battery. It's also not like the screens explode.

a chance for Apple to redeem itself

Pisssst, a secret.

Honestly, the OP can whine about their issues with Apple and I can whine about mine. I haven't gotten a bad computer from Apple yet, and I am on my sixth personal machine. Absolutely problem free for almost 4 years. Now when it comes to having a machine that offers me something outside of the "here's your average run of the mill laptop" Apple has fallen way short.

Shessi has heard me b**ch about it already, I want a PRO machine that offers more power and more features that what I can get in a high spec'd low class PC. My significant other wants a 12" PowerBook replacement and has been looking at the Sony TZ for a while, and may make the jump. She will continue to love her iMac of course. And I may get the Mac Pro and an Alienware laptop to go with it. Apple's offerings have become real dry lately and whining about yellow screens is beating a dead horse. I and a few others want Apple to start giving us more than 3 laptops and 2 desktops (one with laptop parts) to choose from.

Right now, the only thing I can see that is keeping Apple afloat is their OS and other pieces of software, and that ain't much. I am glad the Zune is starting to pick up so that the iPod team can get their act together. The iPhone is cute but if it stays in AT&T's hands for much longer it will whither and die, and now that Dell and other PC makers are starting to get the hang of good design I hope that Apple starts offering more than a wonderfully functioning OS in a mediocre, flimsy aluminum case.

And I know that we all love the OP's ! at the end of every sentence. :)

Everything is possible or should i say, nothing is impossible. If they have sutch problem that could be a simplified way of solving it! Or they could ask LG or Samsung to make such checking arrangements before the panel is installed in the MBPros! Im not here to give the solution, although most times the solution can be the simplest things no one has ever thought of, im here to express a complaint, so make remarks on that, and not the solution!

Except problems like this don't occur every single time with a quality manufacturer.

Well, to be fair, I believe the majority of *books do work. It's just unfortunate that there are a lot that don't, and that Apple seems determined to keep releasing new products without cross-checking them first for errors.
