sounds like I should take advantage of the much hyped applecare I paid for (actually it has paid for two motherboards already). I've heard the term Kernel Panic, but I only assumed it happened to people doing something incredibly important that was due the next day. Thanks, seriously, for the info.

well i'd look at what you'd done to the machine lately. did you install more RAM? if you take it out do the kernel panics stop? did you install some software? if you uninstall it do the kernel panics stop then? sounds like you just installed GB and it started. might want to look at the Apple forums and see if other people are having the same problem.
