This might be interesting....

Razor has some nice unique designs to it's products.

The alleged specs sheet certainly paints a capable flagship picture: 5.7-inch, 16:9 QHD display, Snapdragon 835, 8GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, a 12MP main camera and an 8MP selfie one, all running Android. Google's mobile OS has, indeed, become a pretty viable gaming platform over the past few years and there is still a lot of untapped potential to explore, as far as mobile gaming is concerned.

They make some nice looking products, though they're frequently form over function. Their ultra-thin Blade laptops have an appalling cooling system and the CPU/GPU hits its thermal limits practically instantly when putting under stress.

Basically, raw hardware specs don't make a good performing product if the thermal system can't handle it. Whilst I don't think this would be as much of an issue in a phone, I'd still approach this news with a degree of skepticism (especially being new territory for them) until real-world reviews come in.

agreed...they do make some appealing laptops.
The bought a company called Nextbit so they won't be doing this from the ground up and will probably use a lot of the designs Nextbit already had going.
Here is an image of the Nextbit Robin

Considering this is razer, the price on their alleged smartphone would probably make the iPhone X look cheap.

Those corners! They look insanely painful to hold in one hand.

I've also read that very square corners can cause more damage to the screen if device is dropped.

live stream going on now, just unveiled

https://www.razerzone.com/watch-listen-play

a few notes:
120hz screen
dual 12 mp cameras
entire top and bottom bezels are speakers
4000 mAH battery
fp sensor in power button
5.7" screen
devs will make exclusive 2k, 120 hz games for this phone

EDIT:

some hands on videos already

Are you also watching the livestream? How many people are at that event? Like 10? Going by the small sounds of excitement.

It's an interesting one, the oh be doesn't really seem to bring much to the table over current flagships, that Game Booster sounds a lot like Samsung's Game Launcher.

120Hz Display and 4000mAh battery are its main advantages it seems.

I hope for their sake there is a large enough market for this, I'd certainly get this over the Essential PH-1 if I were to pick a 2017 Newbie device.

Those sharp corners so look painful, but I am sure they have a Case that will help will all that.

It's out Nov 17

This definitely looks like a Nextbit. The interface is NovaPrime, which is pretty cool. It's a screamer under the hood with a crazy refresh rate.

Did the designer of the Robin design this? He was a former HTC guy. Not sure if he made it over to Razer.

I actually like this. Minus the latest version of Android, it ticks all the boxes I'm looking for. After spending time with the Pixel 2 XL, I've just come to realize bezel size falls far down the list of things I care about in my smartphone. The Pixel 2 XL is the same size as my iPhone 7 Plus but I don't find its display any more immersive because of its slightly increased size and smaller forehead and chin. I'll gladly take awesome front firing dual speakers in those larger bezels. A flat display with 16:9 ratio too. And that battery size. :D

Nova is easily my preferred launcher too so that somewhat takes the sting out of not having Oreo. And I still don't love the rear facing fingerprint sensor so the side mounted version is kind of appealing.

When I tried the Sony xz premium, I liked the fp sensor in the power button. Better than some of the back of phone solutions.

120hz display and 4000mAh battery..... Excellent. Everything else, not so much.... I seem to be one of the few that like rounded corners and 2.5D glass and this phone is exactly the opposite of that. On top of the fact that it is a rather large phone. It will be interesting to see how this does in the market.

120hz and battery life has my attention, but the design falls flat for me. Next year will be interesting though if them and Essential can make good sequals.

There have been lots of troll posts on iPhone, Samsung, and other phone ads on IG and other places. Is someone paying them?

I like the simple design, though I am in the huge minority that hasn’t joined the war on Bezels, and really like my non XL Pixel 2. Having a place you “know” you can hold your device without causing spurious inputs, is actually a nice thing for some of us.

I actually like the bezels on my 8 Plus.......It does provide a nice place to hold the phone. I can pick it up without having to touch the display.

It's not bad for a $699 phone. I'll probably skip this first gen, but hope they release future iterations and become a player in the field.

yeah, I think you need something to hold onto for sure. when I watch a youtube video full screen on my Note 8, yes it's gorgeous, but I have to play hand gymnastics to make sure I don't accidentally touch the screen or cover it up with my hands.
