Does anyone know if you can use the new iPad Pro as a display for either PS4 or Xbox? Either streaming/remotely or direct via usb-c to HMDI?

You can stream Xbox One games to iPhone or iPad with OneCast - works pretty well too!

NBA 2K Mobile is insane on the iPad its not nab 2k19 its a new one and its the one they used on the keynote to demo

NBA 2k Mobile is a ****** online game with iAP and loot boxes and all that BS, it looks great but not my cup of tea at all, hopefully they update their regular game with the graphic improvements as well.

There appears to be 2 NBA 2K games. NBA 2K19, which is $7.99 and NBA2K Mobile which is free. Has anyone played the $7.99 version?

How the heck is a basketball game even played via touchscreen?!

Admittedly, my last basketball game was Jordan vs Bird on the Mega Drive, ha.

Took the plunge and bought NBA 2K19. It’s a really good game for what it is
Being only $8. Rosters are a little out of date, well at least my team, the Sacramento Kings

I must be getting old, for I have been playing Snoopy's Town Tale https://www.facebook.com/SnoopysTownTale/ on my iPad Pro 12.9 (2018).

I used to play this on my iPhone XR and I have to say the game has great graphics. It's fun interacting with the Peanuts characters and my favorite is having Lucy pulling the football away from Charlie Brown at the last second. It's a very cute game.

My advice is to give up this pipe dream as a customer and just get a dedicated console if you want HIGH END gaming. And for Apple to stop advertising the iPad or any iOS device as a AAA console competitor. Its not. You will never see GTA V on an iPad even though its capable of running it at 60FPS with zero hiccups.

Is it possible ? Sure. And it has been for the last couple years. The processor and graphics have blown the raw power of the switch away for a while. The problem is development. It requires Apple handing over a tiny bit of control to the game devs and thats something they wont do. Plus the hardware/controller issue is just too big of a mess for game companies to want to deal with.

I dont see this changing anytime soon. Also people are not going to shell out 20, 30, 40 , 60 bucks for a game like I would on a Switch. Free to play and premium gaming are not two things that go together. The whole model is just not gonna work for Apple or its customers. People whined like babies back when the app store first came out and fairly decent games cost $7-10 and so now most games are free to play with loads of micro transactions. iOS has become the ultimate casual gaming device and thats how it will remain. It carved out its place in the gaming community and its not going to change. You can thank Apple and yourselves for that. If it doesnt make much sense its because it doesn't. People are irrational creatures that will spend $5 per day on starbucks and hundreds per year in gems and other micro transactions but were scoffing at a one time $7 iOS game.

I've seen some games that are able to stream from servers to devices. Anything like this for the ipad? I know on a Nvidia Shield TV you can stream steam games without a PC. They stream straight from steam itself. I know Apple rejected Steam Link, but has anyone else heard of something similar?

Well, it can be as powerful as an Xbox One for a short time before it throttles. Difference between the Switch(as well as the XOne) and iPad Pro, is that the Switch has a fan to cool it off, whereas the iPad has to stay below a temp otherwise it’ll overheat after a long period of pushing it.

Plus the market is completely different which sucks for us who want AAA games on the scale of those kind of games. Plus Apple doesn’t seem to care that much about AAA games to push it.
Where is your evidence of throttling? I’ve never seen any games throttle on my iPad Pro.

Where all this is going (hence a few Microsoft name drops) is Microsoft’s new cloud based games streaming service that will likely kick off towards the tail end of next year. Instead of having games physically running on your IPad you will have the “X Cloud” app installed and from there various titles will be able to be streamed providing the internet connection is strong enough. The name X Cloud and a recent games streaming services company have been recently acquired by Microsoft specifically for this purpose. I think you will find to begin with it will support ALL Xbox “play anywhere” titles. Microsoft doesn’t care what device you’re using as long as your using one of their platforms to access it on a games for services type subscription. Check back here in early 2020 and let me know how close I am. :)

NBA 2k19 is not full screen and not good graphics on the new iPad the one they demoed is NBA 2k Mobile and its free not 7.99 but its full of annoying in app crap but the graphics really shows off the ipad its best ive ever seen, so yeah 2k19 is not optimised for new ipads they have black borders on the 12.9

I’ve never heard of this service, I’m really curious to hear your thoughts.
Oh my God. Shadow Tech is flawless. I basically have a surface pro. It runs the full virtual windows machine flawlessly on my iPad. Installed gears of war 4 and tomb raider (via Steam) both run at max graphics with no hiccups. Even works with my nimbus MFi controller. This is a winner and totally worth $30 per month considering you’re basically getting a $2k gaming PC that will get upgraded
