iPhone Absinthe v2.0! Jailbreak iOS 5.1.1

Absinthe.app refuses to open for me on 10.8. It appears to be being blocked by Gatekeeper, even though Gatekeeper is set to allow all apps.

Fresh wipe worked the first time! Maybe we shouldn't do the erase all data on iPhone thing.

Fixed the error message! Make sure you restore with itunes and then try the jailbreak! Restoring on the device itself seems to cause issues!

i think ill have the same issue, any work around? I'm finishing up on 5.1.1 now so I've lost my previous JB at this point

I'm doing a restore from backup now, didn't feel like doing a full fresh reset up this time. I did that about a week ago. I'm doubting I'll still be jailbroken still once this is done, since I wasn't jailbroken before I did the backup...anyone have any experience on this? This is what was mentioned in the jailbreak instructions but the wipe all data thing doesn't work either.

Should I update my iphone 4, and iphone 4s to 5.1.1 from 5.1 before doing the JB?

You HAVE to - the Jailbreak is designed to exploit iOS 5.1.1, not 5.1.

(So far as I understand it)

From the Greenpoison site:

This jailbreak supports firmware 5.1.1 ONLY and is again one of the most easiest jailbreaks to use (so easy your grandma could do it ;D)

If you are on 5.0.1 or 5.1, upgrade to 5.1.1 first - THEN run the Jailbreak.

iPhone 4/Restored to factory settings/Mac 10.7

Did another fresh restore from iTunes.
Jailbreak went through.

For those on 10.8 Mountain Lion Developer Preview like me, try running the 10.5 or 10.6 version in terminal. The app loads fine and it's jailbreaking now.

Mount it up, and then open terminal and paste the below:


/Volumes/Absinthe\ 2.0/Absinthe.app/Contents/MacOS/Absinthe-10.6
