First time with an Action button and never used shortcuts - but is there any way to have it work BOTH silent and torch? Maybe normal click for silent and long click for Torch. Or single click for silent and double for torch or something?

Apple needs to add a long press too. Frustrating that it can only be used for one thing (without a shortcut)

This can be accomplished by setting up ACTIONS in a shortcut that instructs the Action Button to launch different functionalities based on the orientation of the phone.

For example;
Phone in portrait orientation-menu of programs
Landscape right-camera
Landscape left-selfie camera
flat, face up-launches chat GPT
flat, face down-activates DO NOT DISTURB

So, you could set it for FACE DOWN = toggle silent
PORTRAIT = Torch

It’s my silent switch, because Apple took that away and I used it a lot. Can’t really think what else I’d need that button to do in all honesty.
You know I was thinking, Why couldn't the iPhone have both a silent switch AND a action button?

I’ve kept it as silent switch, it’s something I change frequently throughout the day.

I use the “swipe right” widgets-only screen for my collection of shortcuts so they were already accessible from lock screen.

Like many others, mine opens up a folder and so far I really love it. Find myself using it frequently.

I'm new to the Action Button, only had the 15PM for 2 weeks and quickly set it up to play my Muisc Playlist...

Seems boring. LOL

I need to watch more on YouTube.

I’ve set mine to unlock my front door. I’m hoping Jaguar updates their app so I can use it to turn the car’s AC on in advance, and I’m thinking of a shortcut to set a specific Hue scene

I would love this button to turn “silence unknown callers” on and off! Asking Siri to do it is a joke.

I don't really understand the shortcuts and automation very well, I can make easy shortcuts and automations but I wonder if it's possible to make my phone set a focus when I have a calendar event? And is it possible to open an app when I'm at a location? Ping my phone when my aw is charged to 100%?

I guess it’s one of those simple features that, once you get used to it, you wonder how you ever lived without it! I’ve been using the iPhone 15 Pro Action Button for a few weeks now, and while it’s definitely a cool feature, I’ve run into a few annoying issues. I’ve set it up to quickly launch the camera and toggle the flashlight, but sometimes it’s a bit slow to respond.

Yes there’s an Arrive function that you can specify an address and then link it to Open an app. I have it set up to open the MyQ garage door opener app when I arrive about 30 seconds from my house. Works great.

I've set it up to open control center. Surprisingly it is actually super useful - can do a whole lot more faster with one hand now

Have you tried using the back tap feature to open Control Center? That’s how I open mine and it’s completely changed how I use my phone.

Oh, been out of touch a bit with the latest iOS features until I upgraded to 16P recently, but that's nice. Though you do need to unlock the screen first and it could be more finicky but need to test it some more. Thanks for the tip ;)

Yeah sometimes it’s a tad hit or miss.
Mine works when the screen is locked. Wonder if that may be a setting you can adjust. I also have the flashlight set for the 3x tap. That is SUPER hit or miss.
