I'm still having trouble with this update. I have AdBlocker and AdBlockerNetworks installed. iAds are definitely blocked everywhere but some apps (Slacker Radio, SigAlert) still have ads even though they didn't with the last version of AdBlocker. I've double checked the settings in both apps.
Anyone else having this problem?

Uh, you've been able to "turn off" iAds on a jailbroken device. No need to a 3rd-party app

You just rename "AdSheet.app" to something like "AdSheet.bak". That prevents iAds from showing up.

You're talking about the actual "AdSheet.app" file within the FOLDER with the same name, correct (or do you rename that entire folder)?

It's a good tip but I'd rather AdBlocker just work the way it did before latest update.

I installed the asblocker network but i still get iAds. Anyone else get that?

I just opt out of iAds in settings and then I use a modified hosts file. The good thing about using a hosts file is that it blocks ads everywhere on the device in every single app and you don't have to commit resources to a mobile substrate addon.

No I don't mess with that. Sorry I don't have any experience with it. If you want to go that route then the person who posted it is probably the best source for answers. Sorry if I confused you.

Thanks. What do u do?

Check out post 41. m3coolpix posted a link for hosts files. Just google mvphosts or winhelp hosts file and you can use that. Any host file will work. Heck, you could download several of them, merge them, and remove all silicates if you really wanted to. Just find a popular one (the 2 I referenced are updated frequently) and periodically check for updates. When there's an update, replace your modified hosts file with the new one. Let me know if you can't figure it out.

Edit: I should mention the file path is /etc. In that folder you'll see the original hosts file. Rename that or append a "1" or add "backup" to the file name. You want to keep this in case you need to temporarily allow ads. Just insert the new hosts file in this folder and you're good to go. Just make sure the name is "hosts" (without the quotations obviously).

Edit again: If you want an even more aggressive "junk" blocking solution, you can use the Ghostery browser app. Not sure if any of you are familiar with, or currently use, the Ghostery browser extension for FireFox and Chrome, but that's a great solution too. It's not the best iOS browser right now, but they are working to make it better. It blocks those annoying social media buttons too, like twitter, Facebook, and google circles (whatever its called lol). I use that browser from time to time when I want additional junk blocking/privacy.

Thanks all! This is a great thread. I've replaced my hosts file and renamed AdSheet.app to AdSheet.bak. Seems to work pretty good. :)

Just disabled it. I didn't even know it was there. Thanks!

You're welcome! In fact, I turn them all off except for traffic because I like to have that info for my GPS app. But the rest I turn off. If you travel a lot you'll want to keep time zone setting on but otherwise its useless. Mines turned off and my clock still adjusted for daylight savings last weekend. So in my opinion that location service is useless. In fact they're all useless except for traffic lol
