From my experiences with 3G it may be too slow and disappoint as compared with the wi-fi version. I have the wi-fi version but may purchase the 3G version as well to test with.

Nope. Not limiting myself to 3G when I have a Sprint overdrive that will run it on 4G :)

I may want the 3G model when i'm done with college in 3 years, but for now I have access to wifi pretty much all day.

Yay for rooted Android and WiFi everywhere.

Depending on what OS 4.0 brings to the table, I'm very likely ditching the iPhone now that I have an iPad, and getting the HTC Evo with a built in and sanctioned wifi hotspot feature. Definitely no need for 3G then.

My work guest device wifi only allows port 80 traffic, so everythingnis filtered as well as restricted. I'd like the 3G just so I can get email and use a port other than 80.

Yes, after using my DD's wifi version i know that I *need* the 3G version.

Heck, she finally figured out she really wants the 3G version when she realized no where we go has wifi! LOL!!

Can you explain what Double D's are in this context?

Never wanted the 3G iPad and still don't. The WiFi iPad is FAST on my Time Machine wireless N network. I think the 3G version would be clunky and frustrating by comparison. Plus, I see the iPad as a portable device inside the home. If I'm out and about, the iPhone has 3G and a size that's a better fit.

I thought about getting the 3G for both data and GPS. However, after using the WiFi only I think it's just fine for me.

The WiFi location services does a great job of locating me. I won't be using Car Navigation, but my iPhone takes care of that.

Also I'm paying $30 a month already for 3G on my iPhone. I'm not going to pay any more so I can use the iPad a few times a month I don't have WiFi.

I am waiting for the 3G because I don't want to be limited to where I can use my iPad...ever. That means at my mom's house (she has no wifi), on the road, in hotels, even at home if/when my internet service goes down.

I love the pricing plans they have come up with...$15 for 250MB and $30 for unlimited. The great part is you can turn it on and off with no contract--AND you can start with the $15 plan and the iPad will warn you when you get to 20%, 10% and 0% remaining so that you can switch to the unlimited plan if you desire. If, by chance, I find I am not using it at all I'll turn it off completely and there will be no charge. But I'll always have that option. That's great!

when loading multiple pages, safari auto-reload pages when you swap. this will sure eat up 250MB/$15 fast. so basically, it loads the page by itself, then notify you that you run out of data.

I canceled my 3G , love my 64gig wifi, and can use 3GS iphone when i cant use wifi, work has free wifi which is huge plus.

I originally wanted a 3G as the speed of 3G at my house is better than my WiFi (doesn't make sense to me either). However, I feel very confident that the unlimited won't be truly unlimited, and that file size will be limited, and streaming video will be a lower quality to protect bandwidth. Hopefully I am wrong, but am very happy with the WiFi version so far.

I currently own an Iphone, Ipad and Imac, I was wondering if I could get rid of my iphone and use the Nexus 1 to teather with my ipad? any thoughts?

Step 1: Root your Nexus One.
Step 2: Install Barnacle WiFi Tether from the Android Market.
Step 3: Enjoy data on your iPad wherever you and your Nexus One go.

I went on a short trip in the car the other day when someone else was driving, I would have liked to be able to browse the net, but pretty much anywhere I may be has wifi now, and for everywhere else I have my iPhone. While if Apple gave 3G with all iPads I would take it, I don't feel it is work $129 plus extra monthly fees for me.

I really wish AT&T would offer a tiered plan like iPad with iPhone. I could save $15 a month the

What does Root your Nexus mean?

A process that essentially gives you additional access to your Android OS. Although not synonomous, similar in nature to the "jailbreaking" process for the iPhone. Check out a site such as alldroid.net for some more information.

My wife got a WiFi only model and I had pre-ordered a 3G one for myself. After using hers, I still definitely want to get the 3G.

There have been a couple instances already where 3G would have been nice...once when we went to her mom's house, who has no WiFi and the other in the car once where she was trying to access something while I was driving.

Now I did just jailbreak her 3G iPhone and installed MyWi, which works great...but I don't like being stuck not being able to upgrade the firmware (I usually like to have the latest firmware) and two, I don't like that you have to go in an turn on the MyWi and then go into the iPad to connect it to. I want it to just work when I access the internet without having to worry about extra steps.
