How about doing a YouTube video and showing the product you are using
I did not use a product. I was looking for somewhat elastic adhesive that would not just got stuck in the grills but would be able to pick up oil and dirts. Thought of some of those would help but did not have any: 1577045325225.png

So used some adhesive from an envelope instead.

I had tried to clean the tips and swapped it left/right. No luck. The fit test at the right pod failed again. It only works if I press the pod with force in my ear. I think, the internal mic has failed.

We don’t have a way to prove that. I also took some blue tack to the tips as well as the speaker grill of the airpods. All I’m saying is they’re working like new again.
Do you suggest blu tack? I’ve read many post related to the airpods2 that blames blue tack, saying that it push more than pull, and sometimes material get stuck into the grid.

…exactly – in difference to the AP dirt is not the problem with the APpro. Also dirt cannot be an explanation for popping up bone-conduction – annoying bump-noise every step you take…

Its an technical issue that hopefully will be solved…

I don’t know what to tell you but my issue was solved by cleaning it and using memory foam tips.

Had the same problem, changed ear tips, cleaned, did a hard reset. None helped. Went to Apple store and they replaced the failed earbud.

This is what causes the thump. It’s not a “technical issue.” Hearing aids have had this problem forever, and typically the venting is used to try to help, but there’s nothing electronic involved. If you think you didn’t hear it before and it somehow got worse, then you either didn’t notice it at first, or you started jamming them further into your ears.

If the fit test works if you push the AirPod into your ear, then the internal mic is working and your seal is bad.

I must push it through my ear to hear nothing. The tip must be pressed to close (nothing to hear). Then the fit test works.
And again: All works fine after the pods are new. And after the first exchange. Currently I have the problem only at the right pods. The problems happens after some exercises with much sweating.
The internal mic gets destroyed from sweating (may be salt). I think they have some production problems. I hope the next batch in january will fix it.

so are you saying you only sweat in your right ear? 🤡

It is too difficulty to understand? This is my second pair of Airpods pro. The first pair failed on both sides.
This second pair failed on one side YET. Both pairs are ok on first use.

“The internal mic gets destroyed from sweating”. Do you have any evidence to substantiate your claim? How come only the right one gets affected by this?

You are wrong (and don`t tell me what I experience/examin) – apple solved it with inward NC – but it fails after some time and seems to be no coincidence with the failing passtest that occurs.

You are wrong, because thats not how it works. I can provide plenty of evidence to back up what I say:

https://www.hearingtracker.com/news/apple-cracks-the-intelligent-earbud-market-with-new-airpods-pro

Then, a vent system allows for airflow to equalize pressure, which minimizes the uncomfortable “occlusion” effect experienced with tightly sealed hearing aid earmolds or earbuds.

It's purely the venting on the AirPods Pro that tries to help with the "thump" (which is the only way to solve this problem), not inward noise cancelling (because that doesn't work).

EDIT: Here is an article with Apple's patent, using a vent valve for the purpose I described. There is no inward noise cancelling of any kind using a mic.

…still wrong – last reaction: the inward noice-cancelling technic from apples site:

Lol, did you even look at the patent page? Everything is pretty clearly labeled there. And "Unwanted sound" is not the same as bone conductive occlusion (unwanted sound could be outside noise coming back in through the eartips). That's just generalized marketing lingo, not any kind of technical description (but the patent stuff has all the technical info).

Think of this: You take a step, the vibration travels through your skull, and then hits your eardrum. There's no way to "noise cancel" that thump, because the vibration is not traveling through the air. It's directly hitting your eardrum. The only way to noise cancel that conductive sound would be to attach something directly to your eardrum. It's like an earthquake shaking a wall. You can't noise cancel your wall shaking.

And that thump is always there. You just don't hear it until all other sounds are sealed out. It's like going into a soundproof room. Eventually you can hear your blood pumping through your ears, because there's no other sounds to drown it out anymore.

My experience with the “thump” is that I can reduce/ eliminate it by wearing the AirPods loosely. Not pushed in too tightly. ANC is reduced somewhat but the trade off is worth it to reduce/eliminate the thumping sound.

Must be individual specific. I take regular long walks and I don’t hear a thump.

It is indeed...there are a few variables that come into play depending on one’s unique physiology. Some people don’t notice it. Low freq. hearing loss can make it so you can’t hear it at all, etc.

Yeah, I was having an issue with the bone conduction until I cleaned them. I think there was a problem with the venting.

Is the vent provided by the tips? Did you clean the tips or the external/internal mics?
