Well the paperwork certainly looks legit.

This is definitely interesting but 70 bucks for fakes? That's just too much for my liking.

I ordered the i60. I mainly going to use it for my workouts. My Powerbeats 3 died on me again.

I got the i60 TWS “AirPods” and they really feel cheap. Sound wise, they’re decent but not as good as AirPods.

They don’t connect immediately like the real ones. That’s probably the thing I hate most and no ear detection.

I just plan on using these during workouts so let’s see how well they hold up. I don’t want to use my real ones due to how much I sweat.

I ordered these on Sunday of 6/9 and got them today 6/17. Super fast shipping.

Mine stopped working Guess that's what I get for $30 knockoffs? Oh well. Have PBP coming soon

I can't personally vouch for anything yet as mine won't be here for several weeks.

I went with the i80 mainly because I wanted the newest/best options, at least from what I could tell.

I'm in the same boat as you in just wanting something extra for the gym.
I don't really care about Hey Siri, the popup pairing thing or really any "on AirPod" controls, etc.

Just want some "extras" that stream music and just "function and sound good".

Hope these work for that. Despite enjoying my Airpods, I just find the pricing from Apple to be bordering on extortion. I soured a bit on all of it with how my original AirPods batteries are getting down to "barely usable" after just a couple years. That's a very expensive "disposable" set of headphones to me. Not a fan of that.

I'm ok with some margin, but let's be honest, Apple overcharges dramatically for nearly everything now. It's actually gotten to the point where I hesitate to purchase things nearly as much as I once did and it honestly even hampers my enjoyment during ownership knowing how much I got bent over for XYZ Apple product.

If they'd like to lower the Gen 1 Airpods price to where it should be at this point (about $79), I'd probably buy another pair -- but we know that's never happening with the Bean Counter up top.
Apple spent $13 BILLION this year on R&D. How much do you think this Chinese brand spent while stealing the technology?

You guys wouldn’t have concerns of radiation vs genuine or safety (like the battery expanding in your ears)

You don't have to replace AirPods every year for a new battery, as you can get the batteries replaced by Apple.

By the way, not a fan in any way of cheap knock-offs. There's always a catch.

Actually, they don't replace the battery of the Airpods, they just replace the unit that has low battery.

True, technically, but the comment was more about pricing. It even costs less to ‘replace the battery’ than to replace the unit. Pretty weird actually.

Even if you have concerns with non-ionizing radiation I would worry about that.

Worse case scenario is the knock off AirPods will be cranking out the same power that Apples version is. In reality EMF from radio transmissions will likely be weaker from the knock off AirPods though.

I've purchased 3 sets of these knockoffs over the past few months and all 3 sets have been junk... All 3 stopped working, or would pair 1 day but no the next, etc.

hey Siri doesn’t work without killing the battery life
Waiting for the first reports of clone pod lithium fires
Sound is terrible and emf is higher than it should be.
but look such a deal
Go China !

The terrible thing about these counterfeits becoming so realistic is that you basically can’t buy used ones or ones from smaller stores anymore without significant risk of being scammed.

I don’t mind people buying cheap alternatives, but the only reason to produce exact replicas is the scammer market. Don’t support them!

I would never buy used AirPods anyways. And since MSRP is all but locked down 95% of the time and when you do get a discount it’s like $10 I wouldn’t mind always buying from Apple or a big box like Best Buy

I ordered these (tws 10000) from AliExpress as a little joke. They arrived yesterday and I am pretty shocked actually.
They look like Airpods, pair like Airpods, Hey Siri works, in ear detection works, touch works, battery level indicator is accurate, wireless charging works, each pod can be used individually... dayum.
The sound quality is ok, but the speech quality is really decent. Comparable to the original EarPods.
Let’s see how long they last, I expected nothing and my expectations were truly surpassed 😂

I just bought a pair of AirPods Gen 2 off eBay. Everything looks legit on the unopened box. I open them up, they pop up and connect to my IPhone 11pro Max. When I try to get to the settings through the Bluetooth screen, it doesn’t give me the settings options. I can only choose: Disconnect or Forget this device. Could these be a fake clone pair? Or is there something wrong with the compatibility with the new iPhone?

Actually, the AirPods put out enough power and are used at such a distance that they were required to undergo radiation testing (SAR). So it is not trivial to meet RF safety limits. The FCC docs show they are about 40% of the safety limit. A few dB of radiated power or antenna gain could make them unsafe.
