They get good reviews but are really bulky and heavy. What about the Bose Soundsport pods. Has anyone tried those?

With all due respect, if it says exactly that on the website, why would you question whether it's true or not?Just found out on the Beats website that the Powerbeats Pro will only come in black in May.
The rest of the colours are coming “this summer”.
Is this correct? Surely they can make four colours available right from the start?
The new Pro's are 23% smaller than the Powerbeats3. No they don't seem large to me at all. AirPods stick out more given they are bright white and hang from your ear.Am I the only one who finds the new Beats to big? The special feature of the AirPods are the size for me. They don’t look conspicuous like the Beats. My usage of wireless headphones are running and just wearing them in my freetime, when i drive with my car or at work sometimes. If I only would need them only for sport I would buy the Beats
Just saying. They also have the true wireless tech, sounds are great tho!Why would I do that?

The only advantage of the AirPods, IMO, is the small carrying case and being able to hear ambient noise (if you desire that). Otherwise I'm willing to bet the Pro's will win in every other way. (Mic performance remains to be seen.)
The best source for sound is a point source, meaning a single driver. The reason why this is not typically used is because a driver has to be infinitely light, ideally massless and infinitely stiff with a perfect impulse response. The smaller the driver, the more problems you will have moving large amounts of air. This becomes less of an issue in headphones or in-ears, because the drivers are so small anyway. That being said, the new driver is more rigid than the old ones, with an aluminum center. At the same time, there's a new acoustic and venting chamber which allows the driver to push more air through the system with much lower distortion than the old version. This isn't a question of 1 vs 2 drivers, but the much better quality of the new driver and the whole system. Or in other words, it's simple physics.1 Driver won’t sorry can not be better than 2 dedicated drivers.
Finally yay!
I have a pair of first gen AirPods and looking to upgrade. Was just gonna get the AirPods 2 but now I’m undecided between this and the Powerbeats Pro.
The 9 hr usage time and sweat resistant aspects tempt me. But the case looks massive and won’t fit in my jeans pockets. I’ve also read that the Powerbeats 3 were prone to breakdown and not sweat resistant at all.
For those who are still on the fence, which one are you gonna get and why?

They are like way lighter and the press release mentioned one driver not dual drivers.
For $250 bucks And No LDAC and aptX HD support and only one driver. My PowerBeats 3 will literally outperform the PowerBeats Pro they are literally and sonically a downgrade.
Best earbuds I’ve ever had PowerBeats 3 deep bass and nice mids and highs thank I part to their dual drivers.
Best headphones I’ve had Sony 1000XM3 just amazing noise canceling.
Right now I have AirPods gen 1 and beats studio 3.
Airpods for me are limited to gym and walking around in stores and such. They are useless on planes. Studio 3 for work and travel.
If I were starting all over and didn’t have any headphones. I’d start with Powerbeats pro.
Chatted with Apple Support on their site today. While nobody there knows anything for sure, they said a pre-order sounded very unlikely. Didn't even happen with the AirPods, and never has happened for a Beats product. I no longer believe the April 29th rumor for pre-orders. Instead we will probably get a release news update at some point in May. Perhaps not even a heads up. We will wake up one morning and you can purchase them online. Who knows. I'd prefer a heads up from Apple if possible.
Edit - Best Buy page specifically mentions 'pre-order' so maybe the Pro's will indeed be available in this manner. Who knows....
How's your beats studio 3 aged so far? I heard the ear pads peel in just a few months or so. I wanted to get a pair of beats studio 3 now I'm on the fence. Then again, PowerBeats Pro is almost out and I'm also curious how well they age since having the AirPods gen 1 for 1.5 years, the battery life has not been great anymore/lately.
My studio 3 could still pass for new, ear pads included. Granted I’ve had them just under a year at this point. I do use them every single weekday so they get plenty of parking use.
If you wear them to workout and/or in scenarios where they will get wet (sweat) I can see them peeling as it’s leather.
