It is a beta. If you really care about things not getting deleted, messed up, lost, etc. due to bugs, you shouldn't be using a beta.

It doesn't help fix what's happening and I can imagine it's frustrating. Take it as a lesson, simply don't use betas if you're not prepared to encounter precisely these kinds of scenarios - as it can and does happen with pre-release software.

I understand the risks, I do care and now I want it fixed.

This bug is definitely not fixed in beta 5. All my synced music disappeared overnight.

Such a bizarre bug!! Shame it’s not fixed in beta 5. What do you think is causing it to delete the entire library overnight?
Think I’m
Going to downgrade my Mac to the previous OS and my phone to iOS 12 for now.

Do all of us experiencing the issue use Apple Music with iCloud Music Library disabled? It seems that is the problematic configuration.

Of course it was never a problem prior to beta 4.

I do!! Purposely have iCloud music library disabled as all my music is synced manually in lossless format so I only use Apple Music to stream the odd song occasionally and yes all my tunes get deleted

Yep, that’s how I have it set up and because iCloud Music Library destroys my collection, I really want to keep it that way.

I was having a somewhat different issue that wouldn't load purchased music. I then decided to remove all my music and start a fresh sync. It wouldn't load any music after that. I thought I tried everything but one of the last things I tried after hours of messing with this was to delete the Music App (and all data) and re-download it. That worked. Everything is working normal with my Music App. Hope this helps.

That worked for me!!!! For now anyways haha. Thank you so much, it’s been driving me crazy.

Same exact issue here, with Beta 4 and Beta 5. I had the same results with iCloud sharing ON and OFF. I thought it being ON was the issue, it wasn't. I just tried to delete the app, and download it and syncing again. We shall see...

Nope, iTunes match only here and it has deleted my music twice now

Currently holding the music I synced (but expecting it to delete any minute now...) and then also shows the music available to be downloaded (so I have double music listed)

Hopefully will be fixed in next beta

I have seen some annoying bugs in synching iOS 13 PB4 to iTunes 12.9.5.5 via cable. No Apple Music.

Step 1. Add music manually to iTunes. Sync. The process runs but the songs don't actually sync across.

Step 2. Remove all music from device via iTunes. Doesn't remove the music. Have to use a third party app to wipe the iTunes_Control folder on the device. Music gone. Re-sync. All music now copies across. The vast majority of star ratings within iTunes are now erased.

iTunes 12.6.5.3 here, no similar issue. But auto generated playlist artwork is all over the place. Sometimes from another playlist, other times from an unrelated album. I am forced to remember only playlist name to know which playlist I am looking for, even so I end up choosing the wrong playlist a lot of the time.

Btw, your issue is related to a corrupted syncing, and iTunes could not fix that data itself. Then, subsequent sync won’t work properly. I encountered this a lot of times back in iOS 10 days. Never encountered that star rating gone issue though.

Still broken in beta 6. I re-synced all my music last night. It all disappeared overnight.

I encourage everyone experiencing this issue to report it using Feedback Assistant.

I went back to iOS 12. I did report it to apple and they came back to me to say the latest build had improvements and to feedback to them. I reverted though. Need my music lol

I rolled back to iOS 12 on my phone for now because of that bug. I’m keeping iOS 13 on my iPad just to see if it’s fixed or not!

So far on beta 7 my synced music hasn't disappeared.

In Feedback Assistant, my bug report was updated by Apple indicating "More than 10" recent similar reports.

My music disappeared in beta 7. iCloud Music Library (iTunes Match) keeps overriding synced music.

ps. I wonder what's the new name for Match now that the iTunes brand is gone.

That's not good news. :-(

At least Apple is aware of the issue. I encourage you to report it if you haven't already.
