This issue is still not fixed in Beta 7. Apple Music On and iCloud Music Library off and always off and never on. 14,000 of my own songs loaded one night and gone in the morning with no rhyme or reason. One odd thing, when I re-synched the songs they all showed up as duplicates with the cloud icon next to the title for download. I have never synched these songs to the cloud.

It’s all such a mess, I’m starting to think music won’t be ready for release by end of sept/beginning of October

Would that be the sign that Apple forces iCloud music library on all Apple Music subscribers and disable local sync entirely in iOS 13? At this rate, there is no sign of this issue being even investigated.

Well that would be dangerous and stupid. If that was the case I'd say hello to Spotify. Also, if that was the case, why would I need a 256gb or 512gb iPhone? Think of all the money in hardware they would lose by forcing that issue. Nope!

256GB or 512GB can be allocated to videos and such, as well as Apple Arcade games. I know some big games occupy 3-4GB after downloading large CG or assets, so large storage definitely has its use.
Just to give you a perspective, on my iPhone right now, I have 3087 songs occupying 142.77GB. Granted, 99% of them are hires files synced from iTunes. But without 256GB, I cannot store all songs like that.
For Apple Music however, 142.77GB would store more than 12000 songs, which would take several years to even go through once.

For what it's worth, I have not had the issue with Beta 6 or Beta 7 as of yet. iPhone XS Max, and all the synching and match is turned off. I load all music on my phone using WALTR 2.

I cannot believe that this issue still has not been fixed. I'm running beta 7 on the XS. For me though, only a third of my library is deleted, not the entire library. It's always the same songs that are deleted including any new songs I have added, but NOT including any new songs I purchased.

I do notice that my library usually gets deleted within a day of seeing the stupid button telling me to sync my music on the homepage of the music app. I always hit the "x" button because I do not want to sync.

Hopefully this is fixed soon.. I'm tired of re-syncing my music.

Make sure you keep feeding it back :)

I thought the point of the iPhone was to combine the iPod with a phone. This music bug should have been high on their priority list. the only thing keeping me from switching back to my iPod nano 4th gen is that I cant use the aidpods with them. :(

I think their motivation is to let user use Apple Music only, and abandon iTunes sync entirely. The ability to combine iTunes sync and Apple Music is not intended behaviour and Apple is trying to fix that.
As of now, I think a temporary fix would be to log out of Apple Music and see how synced music behaves in Apple music app. Definitely not ideal, but maybe worth a try.

On beta 8 it appears they removed the "Library Sync is off" popup. So far my synced library is intact.

I've actually had Apple Music toggled off and it still deletes. :/

I dont want to take the risk anymore. I'm going to downgrade until this is completely fixed.

No, do not give Apple this kind of ideas, I like my local sync as the stuff I sync is not in their iCloud music library.

I am an AM subscriber and a “local synchroniser” as well. In iOS 12, I could toggle iCloud Music Library OFF before beginning to synch the files from iTunes and then, after completing the synch, toggle it back ON. The only drawback of this somewhat convoluted setup was that I had to then redownload all the tracks from the iCloud Music Library stored locally on my device. Since installing iOS 13 betas, I totally lost connectivity with iTunes on Mojave, so am very curious to see what’s going to happen once Catalina is out.

So you don’t even have AM sub but somehow the music on your Apple Music app is deleted anyway?
Oh no. Sorry, I meant that I had the "Show Apple Music" turned off so that it doesn't show in my Music App. Thought that would fix it, but it still deleted my music.

Umm, I don’t think hiding a tab would do too much for this bug.
Have you updated to iOS 13.1 beta 1? How’s that go?

So far on iOS 13.1, my synced music has remained. I haven't seen the issue since iOS 13.0 beta 7.

So I'm still experiencing the same issue I posted earlier in the thread on iPadOS 13.1.1. That is synching doesn't come up with an error and appears to complete but nothing at all syncs across. iTunes 12.9.5.5.

I got this https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT208831 when I plugged in my iPad Pro 11. My XS seems to sync okay.

Really annoying because I don't know what to do now.

I’m soooo ticked off. My iMac is running High Sierra. I have Apple Music, but iCloud Music Library off on my Mac, iPhone and iPad.

I updated my iPhone and can’t sync my music manually from iTunes! There’s this weird Cloud Sync feature and somehow it shows me all the music from my computer, but it’s not available. When I plug my phone in I can’t just sync normally.

Ughhhh.

Try installing and the launching the latest Xcode and then sync again in iTunes.
