I was heading down a few YouTube "rabbit holes" the other night and actually came across some guy that was reviewing those. From the sounds of it, they didn't seem to work well. I'm currently at work and can't access YT, but I'd suggest heading over there and searching and see what you can find. And I agree with iJustines... bring it back for 2020!

I had that adapter and it worked fine for my 2016 15" MBP. I'm pretty sure it'll work fine for your newer model. I used it very sparingly and gave it away at some point, though.

Getting ready to purchase a 2019 Macbook Pro---coming from a 2011 17" pro, I love the magsafe connector---so what are some of the best magsafe connector add-ons for these newer computers!

The only one I've tried recently was on my 2016 15". It worked OK except that the magnet interfered with the lid sensor, which interfered with normal sleep/wake behavior.

The MagSafe on my 2011 17" started misbehaving a long time ago, will show the green light when it's not fully connected and drain the battery completely before I notice. I've heard similar complaints from others about MagSafe, not as reliable as regular ports. So I'm not missing it on my 2016 on the whole.

NONE of the adapters currently available actually support 96W charging. There was a thread where this was mentioned a few weeks ago.

I just got my 16 inch and I love it but I really miss the old magnetic charger on my previous 15 inch.

To solve this issue I'm thinking about getting a magnetic usb-c adapter but it's really hard to find a good one that can handle more than 87W. Should I worry about any long term battery issues if I go for of the adapters with max 87W? I have found a couple of adapters on Amazon that claims to handle 100W but the quality seems to be really doubtful.

Maybe someone here could recommend a really good quality usb-c adapter that can charge the new MBP with full power? :)

*Edit* Noticed that my post was moved into this thread. Hopefully the kickstarter link above is the solution. Fingers crossed!

That looks pretty good, but I'm pretty sure these are the guys that did a kickstarted back in 2014/2015 and took everyones money and delivered nothing after delay after delay. I only say that because two of the people in the first scene at the manufacturing facility look very familiar (from my having watched all the update videos for the failed kickstarter back in 2015). So, buyer beware.

Looks like a decent solution though, I'm surprised though they say it will support 100W usb-c charging, but that then it only supports usb 2.0 fast charging?
