Before buying Ecoute or Celsium, I'm wondering... one of the biggest problems I have with the stock Music app is that ever since iOS 8.4, if you're playing a song on "Repeat One", it will not let you skip to the next song- if you hit skip, it simply plays the song over again. Do Ecoute and Celsium replicate this behavior or do they act like the Music app used to, in that if you 'skip' a song playing on "Repeat One" it will go to the next track?

How interesting! I just tested his on Cesium. When you are on "repeat 1" at the end of the track the track repeats. But if you press skip forward it plays the next track on the album.

Hope that helps.

Thanks. Ecoute doesn't do this. If you press 'next' while a song is playing on Repeat One, it skips to the beginning of the repeated song. Very frustrating.

Also I want to get a refund but when trying to get a refund through 'Report a Problem' it says "This purchase is not eligible for a refund." This is very frustrating... I feel like apps vary so much in their quality and support that they should at least have a 24 hour refund policy...

Apple changed how Repeat One works in the Music app in iOS 8.4...annoyingly they didn't explain the logic behind the move..what was changed and why nor even acknowledged in the release notes that it was changed.
Developer of the Marvis app told a trick how to get Repeat One back using Shuffle option, so it's not exactly the same as how it's supposed to be.
Cesium app mentioned about this in previous release notes.

So I've settled in to Loud or Cesium on the iPhone. Any good solutions for iPad? Neither of these are optimized for iPad. I'm still using Smart Player, the old app from the developer of Loud. It's great, but lacks play next and some sorting options. Really with Cesium would come to iPad!

Good thread. I echo many to say IOS6's player was the best, simple good looking and intuitive, then they broke it. Bring back Forstall! Looking at Cesium now and glad to see the familiar artist/album sort button. Suggestion: give me one-hand operation by not requiring me to hike up and hit the BACK button, just let me swipe the screen to go back.

Seen any with Cover Flow? It's iconic Apple then I hear they got sued.

I miss Coverflow... even though I forgot it existed  Showing that off on the original iPod touch was like the first step into a world of flying cars and hoverboards...

Quick, and possibly stupid question; do any of these third party apps support Apple Music subscriptions? I.e. Sonos allows me to play anything from Apple Music via a non Apple Music interface - do third party music apps allow the same level of control?

I had Tunes Flow, but didn't use it much before because of its very different UI ... just checked the updated version - looks nice with fancy coverflow effects, will try it some more time. For playing music, I prefer a simple interface like the one prior to the Apple Music (I guess iOS 9.3 and iOS 6 coverflow) instead of gesture heavy (click, scroll, click swype, scroll, click just to switch from the Album view to Artists or Geners or Playlists). So far the favorites have been Cesium and Marvis, new Ecoute app also has unnecessarily large album art.

Have a look at TunesFlow, was just recently updated for iOS 10. (I've never used it, so couldn't tell you anything about it)

They have a website with some videos:

I LOVE Cesium. The only thing I really miss when I use it is the recently added screen from the stock app.

I was missing that too until I discovered it is even better. If you are viewing either songs or albums, hit the sort arrow in the top left and you can have it sort by newest. That made the app as close to flawless as I can figure. The only thing missing is last.fm scrobbling but there are background apps to handle that.

WOW. You just put the icing on the cake!

Just curious, does Cesium or Ecoute supports custom lyrics from iTunes 12.5.1...?

Cesium does.

When did Apple add the Music Players & Tools section? It's all the way at the bottom. :p

Can any one tell me what the in app purchases do for Cesium? I'd rather not have to buy the app and then find out I have to spend much more to get full functionality. Unless it's totally killer
