Do you know if Marvis does that?
Marvis updates my play counts and last played, but I don't use iCloud Music Library I sync the ol' fashioned way.

Is anyone else having trouble with Marvis not keeping rating changes? Not always, but I rated a complete album via Marvis and when I re-synced none of those ratings transferred to my library (but the play history did). Many times ratings will sync, but I've seen it not remember a rating even before I re-sync (rate a song, then on the next song back up to the one you rated or re-rated and the rating did not "stick"). I started seeing this on iOS 10.0.3 and now on 10.1, but not consistently.

is this behavior consistent? I ask because I've seen that kind of quirk happen (very rarely) when syncing in previous versions of iOS. I'm curious to hear from others. Time for me to send feedback again, I guess.

I'm still on 9.3.4. I'd say 50% of the reason is this rating thing. If/when an iOS 10 jailbreak becomes available I'll have to take the leap.

As I mentioned, no it is not consistent. Yesterday and today I've switched to Cesium and no such problems, but Marvis ratings were 100% solid on 10.0.2 (on my 6S+, and now 7+). Maybe Marvis needs an update, I haven't seen one in weeks.

By the way, did anyone buy VOX, did VOX support playback of downloaded Apple Music. Interesting to try this as it use it own Audio Engine.

My GF bought me an iPhone for the Christmas. I am not a tech savvy person. I am a truck driver and I love listening to music while on long hauls. I need your recommendation for the best app that runs on IOS for truckers.
I was able to find a list on this page. http://www.truckloancenter.com/blog...ome-apps-for-finding-great-music-on-the-road/
Can you please help me choose? I listen to pop and rock mostly. I hope I can get a suggestion here.

I had bought VOX and disappointing with it. VOX not support Apple Music subscription songs.

I have been using Ecoute for more than six months. I really like the background style of this app and also music quality.

Most of these music apps are simply a skin for the Apple's Music app providing a different UI, so the music quality is the same as Apple's Music app. There are a few apps which have their own audio processing and can improve the sound quality.

Big Cesium fan here. Particularly like shuffle albums, and force touch menu. Most used features.

I really like my Chromecast, and am considering a Chromecast Audio. Do any of these apps work with it? Otherwise I'll grab me an AirPlay receiver.

I'll take a look at that, thanks.

Anyone know of any music apps that offers simple look/functionality like what existed in the iTunes app from ios6, and does *not* rely on cloud/streaming? I just want to use the music on my computer, and the current Music app is the worst thing for that. And, looking for an app having an interface with borders between songs in a list, instead of all this borderless all-blended-together minimalist low-contrast interface stuff?

Thanks in advance.

I'm a syncer and a Cesium fan.

Good overview of Marvis. I like it best.

Btw, if anyone can tell me who sings the song in the background I will buy you a burger (it’s a Tool remake but I cannot find any info on it anywhere). Shazam is of no help.

Hands down my favorite (followed by Cesium. Without these apps the iPhone music experience would be wretched.

Here's hoping Marvis keeps on chugging in iOS 11 and onward.

Here is another app to add - Equalizer+ Pro - it is listed as an equalizer but I use it as my default music player on iPhone and iPad, and has the ability to increase the sound level etc. (Awesome with Bose Head phones)

I originally bought "Equalizer+ Pro" app to be able to increase the sound level when using Bose headphones since they would not get loud enough for me to enjoy the music - the built in player is really great and more useful than the default "apple music player" app which seems to get worse and less useful with each new version and iOS

I can't believe apple makes such a terrible app for playing music on iOS devices - they are really screwing up on providing an app that simply plays music.

Some good new options to try, thanks for the posts.

Is it not astounding how bad Apple's offerings are for the Music app...how out of touch they seem to be from "what just works?"

Did Apple just recently switch to streaming subscription only? A week or so ago I bought and downloaded a song on a Mac. Now it refuses to sync the song to my iPhone. It also refuses to download the song over cell data. When I try to look for new music, iTunes seems to only offer streaming subscription. Being on cell data, that's a deal breaker.

I'm still able to buy and sync songs like normal. I'm on iTunes 12.8 with iPhone 7.
