Songs for ringtones = cry for attention

I was inline to buy food at a store, and this guy let his ringtone go on for about 20-30 seconds just to see if anyone was paying attention

I'm a fan of the stock ringtones or the Codec from Metal Gear Solid

If mine isn't on vibrate then it's just marimba. That's a noise I identify with my phone, therefore it works. I've never explored the ringtone list.

Also despite all the people I know with iPhones no one else seems to use it.

My friend used to have "Sex on Fire" by Kings of Leon. She used to let her phone ring just to get through the chorus, which was fun if you were walking along the street with her but not so fun if you were the one calling.

A wide range of "ring" types of tones can be found at audiko.com (as well as music tones for those who want to go that route). It's free and easy to download songs from. In fact, you can upload sounds, trim them, pull down the resulting file, and share it with the rest of the world. I found out about audiko from this forum long ago and have been using it ever since.

That said, my current ring tone is the annoying "Ring-a Ding" tune from the Geico commercial. It generally gets good response from people as they recognize it from TV (at least in the States they do).

I have been using "CTU-24" since I was just a VX6000 and it was a midi file..:D. Now I have it on my iPhone, but I am getting tired of it. I hate songs! I'm a corporate guy, I can't have Gucci Mayne ringers...lol. That RingPack thread had like 230 ringers, Nextels, Nokia's, etc...I used a couple. I really want like some cool sounds.

I use one ringtone (austin powers :D) for my wife, a very loud siren  ringtone for 2 employees (as I'm usually outside, and it's almost always an 'emergency' (to them) when they call)), and a very loud old style 'ring ring' for everyone else.

On my 3Gs, it's almost too loud, I usually keep the volume at 3/4, unless it's in a jacket pocket.

There are a lot of the things I hate in that list. I found that thread a while ago.

Anyone have the stock Droid ringtones? That damn thing uses .ogg files.

I've never been a fan of songs as ringtones. I have always used the stock ringtones.

Thanks to MacDawg I use Harry Caray singing Take Me Out to the Ball Game.

That would be awfully annoying. My phone is usually on vibrate but the ringtone I have is a song that I could never get bored of... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0

Seriously!! :)

When my phone rings though I immediately go to the silent button and hit it once. I have a couple tones to let me know who's calling so when I hear the first bit I know and I don't need to keep hearing it.

As other have said, "Old Phone" and the "24" phone are good choices. I use "Voyager" by Daft Punk, but there aren't any lyrics in it.

No, you're not the only one that doesn't have a song for a ringtone. Because like you, some of us are over 20.

Irrelevant...

It's much easier to find a unique song to set as a ringer so you can recognize your phone than it is to find unique tones to ensure you know it's your device.

One's age has nothing to do with it.
