Installed iOS 11 on my iPad pro 10.5; The first thing I notice is that the Apple pencil is connected to iPad even if i switch off bluetooth! The battery widget also still shows pencil battery percentage. It could be good thing that i don't have to reconnect my pencil each time I switch off bluetooth;
But when i restart my tab, the connection is gone. Anybody else seeing this?
Also, the bluetooth blinking animation until Pencil is connected is gone..

You have to understand that they're locked in on the version as that's what they're loading in the factory once it's deemed to be GM. That isn't to say that if enough bugs are reported, that Apple couldn't release an 11.0.1 release soon - it's happened before. I'm sure they have internal metrics that dictate when there's enough fixes to justify a .x or .0x release.

Edit: Also, your experience may not be typical...you may want to go through some troubleshooting (backup and wipe your device, etc). You could have some runaway apps that are killing your battery.
I personally know several people that were all on the GM this past week, all experienced severe battery drain on IP7 and 7Plus. I can live with it as I don't mind plugging in when need be, but the amount of glitches and bugs are unacceptable for a final release, never seen this before.

Updated an iPad Pro and an iPhone 6S+. I was amazed to see that both dropped from 100% to about 70% during the download + update process. Did anyone else see this happen? That's a pretty spectacular drain over 20 minutes.

Not for me, iPad Pro stayed at 100% after it rebooted from the iOS update (I had previously charged it up whilst it was downloading and then disconnected for the last ~10 minutes of the download and subsequent installation.

The bluetooth and wifi icons in control centre no longer switch the radio off. For Bluetooth, it’s for exactly the reason you noted. Core connections like watch, airpods and pencil remain connected. Wifi remaining on, but disconnecting from the current network when you hit the icon in CC, greatly improves the speed, accuracy and efficiency of location services. Should you actually want to turn these connections off you can still do in settings.

I keep Bluetooth off unless I need it...but i notice if i turn "Airplane Mode" on and back off, it turns my Bluetooth on.

It’s because you never turned bluetooth off. You just temporarily disabled connections. It’s re-enabled when you exit because it was never disabled in place.

Same here. Must be a new feature.

*cough*

Yes, it is. You should get that cough seen to by the way.

If you disable Bluetooth in the Control Panel is will come back on after turning "Airplane Mode" on and off. You have to turn Bluetooth off via settings.

Huge draining.

Omg it's so fast!!!
I've just installed it on my iPhone 7 and the phone is running faster than before I'm speechless. Cannot wait to see it on my iPad pro once it's done installing

Same here on my iPad Pro 9.7, iP7 and 7+

Very nice and smooth. Finally got rid of that last bit of jerking in app switcher.

Ugh that notifications screen though. Also I found a bug, when I open one it shows it in the wrong orientation.

iOS 11 seems to be working on my 6s. I will probably at some point wish that I had waited a week before installing, we shall see. I am not at all anxious for iOS 12. One iOS at a time please.

I cannot believe this 15A372 GM is the final release, it is so buggy, and horrible battery drain. Was really expecting a refined version today. Honestly quite shocked. I hope 11.0.1 gets released within a few days.

Strange. Mine has been just fine since GM release.

Both iOS 9 and 10 had an updated version when it actually released to the public, 11 is likely to have a newer build too.

The GM we have installed now is only a candidate, Apple can and often do update them before release.
Only happened with iOS 10, not 9. 10 is the odd one out.
