1700 under 100% load has 3.2 GHz all core turbo and consumes 70W of power.

Holy crap... This thing will be MONSTER in server loads and efficiency.

P.S Gaming load performance, between Core clusters.

I have nothing against affordable desktop Macs of course. I just believe in to each it's own that's all.
Like Chicane mentioned, this is not WS stuff, even AMD confirms that Ryzen is not validated for it, at least not yet.
It would go nice in a new iMac Pro though.

koyoot, I know about Naples, not the first time we talk about this. Still, Naples is way off still.

Despite all these numbers on WS performance and ECC, Ryzen as we know it is not a candidate for the nMP. Naples might be, but validation will be required.

Another thing, would you want a nMP with fewer PCIe lanes? It's tight as it is now. I hope the switch talk doesn't come back, specially the internal switch as one likes to point out.
Anyway, Xeon is the only reasonable choice right now, and hopefully SKL-W since we waited all this long.

There is a point for Ryzen in MP. 4C/8T Xeon CPU costs 294$. Going for 8C/16T, ECC, PCIe NVMe SSD + one GPU would be nice entry level MP. For lets ay 1999$.

And Apple can use Naples, server chips for another tier in pricing.

As much as I don't really care for AIOs, a 5K iMac Pro with Ryzen, ECC and a speedy SSD would look great I guess. GPU options could even be APU integrated or discreet Vega 11 or so.
If you're switching sides maybe HP or Dell would provide a good cheaper WS.

Going for an 8 core Xeon will hardly get you to the 1999USD pricing level, no way. Unless Intel now really drops their pants all the way down with the threat of Ryzen/Naples. But they know that ws/server space will still be theirs for a while.

It would be funny to have an nMP that you could BTO with either 1, 2 or 3 APUs. 3 would have a balanced heat dissipation pattern, one on each side. Other configs would be weird and a bit void. Or maybe 3 different configs: 1 CPU + 2 GPUs, 2 CPUs + 1 GPU or 3 APUs. That would please everyone.
Don't beat me up, just a funny exercise. :)

If you do not know how stock market works, you will try to find something behind it.

:) I would suggest to check the stock market again, it is not that bad for NVDA

Just for the record, I'm old enough (I started with Aplle ][e) to remember the days when we had choices and real competition... Seems like we have to wait a bit more and if you are not a AMD employee or major stock holder "I find your excess of faith disturbing" ;-)

What I meant is that people are cashing on the news. Its typical stock market pre-release hype, and effect after the releases.

I wonder if people will spot, what is not correct in the conclusions of the reviews.

Look at the load of the CPUs. If the Ryzen CPU would be the bottleneck, it would be loaded 100%, on all cores. Games are not optimized for this uArch, and we see what we see.

Secondly, according to two sites: pcgameshardware, and BitsAndChips, new Bioses improve performance even by 26% and average improvement is 17%. That is in gaming.

I can see what's wrong twice in that screenshot. No need to look at the video.

What about "FX-8320 vs i7 7700K | 720p Low Setting Benchmark" ?

One more gaming review of 1700X but this time with pointed out minimums and maximums of the framerates.

This another case scenario in which in gaming Ryzen CPU brings much higher minimum framerates.

How come?

AMD does not to be thinking about 1080p gaming, but about 4K, like I do.

It would seem the new budget enthusiast gaming is 1440p.

Not in E-Sports. 1080p 144 Hz is the sweet spot more and more people are wanting.
