I have nothing against affordable desktop Macs of course. I just believe in to each it's own that's all.
Like Chicane mentioned, this is not WS stuff, even AMD confirms that Ryzen is not validated for it, at least not yet.
It would go nice in a new iMac Pro though.
koyoot, I know about Naples, not the first time we talk about this. Still, Naples is way off still.
Despite all these numbers on WS performance and ECC, Ryzen as we know it is not a candidate for the nMP. Naples might be, but validation will be required.
Another thing, would you want a nMP with fewer PCIe lanes? It's tight as it is now. I hope the switch talk doesn't come back, specially the internal switch as one likes to point out.
Anyway, Xeon is the only reasonable choice right now, and hopefully SKL-W since we waited all this long.
