16C/32T is the APU design. I have not heard anything about the 16C/32T CPU only, lately. It is possible, obviously.

This could be a solution for a dual CPU nMP like many here want. 2 Naples + 1 Vega, or 1 Naples + 2 Vega BTO.
Nice.
And still enough lanes for everything else.
Is this what Apple's been waiting for?! Doubt it.

If X99 can take 22 cores, I expect one socket AMD workstations and servers to be able to take 32 cores.

The PCH has nothing to do with the core count.
What do you mean?
X99 (better, C6xx) can handle 22 cores because that's where the CPU tops out.
Naples doesn't even need a PCH.

I mean that if one can buy an inexpensive X99 board and slap a 22-core CPU on it, AMD must offer an alternative.

They have just two fabs(GloFo+Samsung) with ability to produce 14 nm LPP designs. Secondly, Zen+ is made on another 14 nm process node that production starts in late Q3 of 2017.

Thats the reason why you will not see the chips before.

Bristol Ridge or Raven Ridge? Both of them will be faster than GT 720.

Ryzen 3 lineup is made completely from APUs. And they are going to be in the "up to 199$" market.

Unless AMD will decide in the last moment to include in the Ryzen 3 branding 4C/8T and 4C/4T CPUs.
But at this moment its very unlikely.

I thought they would be CPUs. :(

4C/8T at this moment when I am writing this are in Ryzen 5 brand.

Not this round. Future designs will feature 8C/16T APUs. But not so close as you might think. Cannonlake Intel mainstream will be first to feature 8C/16T+iGPU design.

Edit: You were asking about 4C/4T design? I have not heard about this type APU. But who knows?

I am confused. You said there would be Ryzen 3 4C/8T APUs and Ryzen 5 4C/8T CPUs.
[doublepost=1488986905][/doublepost]I think I misunderstood what you wrote. The lineup would be:

- Ryzen 3 4C/4T APU
- Ryzen 5 4C/8T CPU
