samsung never gives OEM's their new AMOLED tech.

That's not what I meant. Other manufacturers will improve as well.
Your now exclusive display technology will meet its rivals 6 month later.

Also, not using the latest technologies allows better quality control.
I personally dislike being a beta tester for the latest factory in China.

I did not argue that Samsung makes great displays.
I was making the point that technologies moves so fast that no one should care.

If you do, I'm fine. Honestly.

Truth hurts...

Nope. I honestly couldn't care less. I'm glad Sammie is doing the right things with their hardware but you still couldn't pay me to use Touchwiz. I own a Moto X 2014 so I don't really have a problem with saturation anyway. As long as the screen is consistent and defect free.

I just find this 'us' against 'them' mentality comical. Android/Samsung aren't underdog players anymore. There's no need to be insecure.

Android folk have been flogging this Displaymate article all over the web like its some sort of personal victory and validation. To the point of sounding like a broken record.

But hey, whatever floats your boat. Carry on.

Still after so many years none has the.amoled that Samsung is using in their the flagship galaxy. I think it will take way more than 6 months before any rivals can catch up.

But it's ok for the past 3 years of hate towards amoled screens that people criticized samsung for all over the Internet right?

If it wasn't for those criticisms, we wouldn't have the display we have on the Note 4 now.

But that's also a very subjective matter.
I personally think that high DPI displays are just part of the spec war.

They have less contrast and color accuracy due to cross talking pixels.

It's the same reason why the camera megapixel war is reversing to use larger pixels.

But I do not disagree, it's just not the case that companies other than Samsung build crappy displays.

I personally prefer a good IPS display because of color reproduction.

I agree. Say what you want about Samsung, but they seem to be listening to consumers and been consistently moving forward over the years, both with hardware and software.

So let's start criticizing apple for the next 3 years so that iphone can one day have the display on the note 4.

Camera mega pixels has nothing to do with amoled displays

Cameras have a tiny lense with millions of pixels with light trying to get through them.

If you like color reproduction the note 4 screen is for you then

Knock yourself out.

Although by most accounts many are already plenty happy with what Apple is doing with their screens.

Well that is why this article is being posted everywhere though.

the flogging of amoled was and is quite relentless on this website at least

I mean heck, the guy above talking about color reproduction didn't even read this article that directly contradicts his statement!

Exactly the guy says he prefers ips for its color accuracy when the note 4 amoled display is the most accurate display ever tested.

Go figure

Which is fine.

No. It's just so easy to troll here... Look I really don't care.

The real world is so much more fun with reflecting surfaces and things to touch than to argue about the qualities of a mass-produced piece of metal and plastic that can beep and blink.

I just waste my time here because I'm a spoiled rich person that can buy anything without considering any other aspect of the world.

But it's fun anyways ...

EDIT:

There is no source to my ramblings ... 99,9% of all people here have no other source than their imagination.

I'm too lazy to scroll but I\m quite sure I never even mentioned the "evil device" by name ...

I just said I don't care about quick product cycles and who builds what within a timespan of 6 month. Just go back and read.

The only thing I did mention were IPS displays, which I personally prefer regardless of phone brands.

But you are just fueling my boredom, I have to stay put here for 30 minutes.

You compared amoled screens,to mega pixel sensors and also said you prefer ips because it has more accurate colors.

You are the one spreading bs not the rest of us

So why was yet another thread created on a topic that has been bludgeoned to death in numerous other threads?

Congratulations to the Note 4, it truly is a great display and Samsung seems to have worked out nearly all the kinks with OLED tech.

Not sure why this has to keep being repeated....
