No they aren't. I've used all of rather those devices except the note 2 and the 6 plus is the best. The note 2 is only 720 p. The only device that I've seen that has a better screen than the 6 plus is the note 4. However all of the flagship devices from 2014 have good displays.

Agree .... I have both the 6+ and the Note 4. They are both great phones with awesome screens. But the Note 4 screen is better.

Nope they are all the same caliber. They are all GOOD enough. Unless you want to separate them technically (e.g using displaymate tests). But if we do this then Note 4 display is better than 6+.

i have a galaxy tab s, and a 6+

for all intents and purposes, the tab s' amoled display blows away the 6+.

the black levels are stunning. it is literally pitch black. colors appear full and there is no whitebalance issues unlike with my 6+.

samsung's amoled technology is second to none in my book. I dont get why people argue otherwise, because last i checked, samsung screens are far more reproducible in terms of color accuracy than apple's LG screens, which are littered with shadows at the edges and yellow tint issues.

I think one thing stands out from the opinions shared on this thread and that is you wouldn't really be able to tell whether a screen is better than the other unless you have devices side by side. How often is that going to happen? Are people really going to be using their device and dwelling on the fact there is another out there that has been voted better? I don't think so.

Whether you use a Note, S5, LG, iPhone etc, you will likely be happy with the quality of the screen. I can't think of any flagship devices currently on the market that have poor screens or are unfit for purpose.

I agree that both are great phones. But all you have to do is use them ....then the differences stand out. The Note 4 screen is noticeably better. You don't have to have them side by side to see the differences.
I have the IP6+ and the Note 4 and like them both for different reasons.

Firstly I really can't see the point in having both devices but that's just me. I think both are far too big and again that's my opinion but based in screens I am sure the Note is better. It all depends though whether you decide to buy a phone purely on its screen though. It wouldn't be the first demand I'd have but if it is, then this is a great bragging point to make that decision based on. When I chose my phone I looked at the 6+ but based on my subjective opinion it was inferior because of its size. This is why tit for tat arguments playing phones off against each other is such a complex discussion.

My understanding is the whites are better on the iPhone. Also it's better in daylight.

I don't see the need for just one phone...... I think the IP6 was just too small....but that is just me. But we are talking about a large phone in this thread. When I choose my phones...having a great screen is very important. It is the biggest single interface on the phone. Why not have the best one can have. Then there is functionality.......

It just backs up the point that nobody's needs are the same. We all have different reasons and criteria when we choose a phone. Picking one is hard enough let alone two for me, plus I think if you have a phone that does everything you want, the need for having a second device is limited.

That is the problem for me.......i never find one that meets all of my needs. Then I get bored with them too easily. Then I have the need to explore new technology.........

I'm lucky my thirst for discovering new technology is satisfied with my job with very different technologies. Mobile phones interest me but I'm not as much of an enthusiast as many here including yourself. I like ease of use and good product design and my phone fulfils that quota. I also prefer spending my money on my family so one phone every 2 years is enough for me. :)

I am very lucky.....i work in IT and get to discover new tech daily around a myriad of categories. Mobile tech is just a hobbie for me. The beautiful thing about my job is it lets me afford nice things for my family and friends and my hobbies. One phone every 2 years would not satisfy my curiosity for new mobile technology. Sometimes just reading about something is not the same as experiencing it for yourself. I have a great working relationship with other tech departments at my work. I can go into the labs and install desktop OSes and images and play with devices they are testing for the firm. Or maybe a new enterprise app to secure the mobile or desktop environment.
I love watching a huge 20ft dashboard screen showing all the external threats trying to penetrate the firm firewalls. Interesting stuff.........
But i am straying off topic.....
My needs change.....so being locked into something for 2 years is not an option.

This is why I own a Android smartphone and iOS tablet, I go between both a hell of a lot. Had my Note 4 since mid October but I'm still in the honeymoon phase with it, so I use my Note a lot more now while iPad sits in my work bag.

The iPhone 6 Plus is the only iPhone I'd get, the display is quite good (but Note 4's certainly better, I agree :D )
It's nice to have two or more platforms to play with. I know a guy with a Note 4 and Lumia 1520, so you're certainly not alone in carrying two monster phones.

I love my iPad......but since I have had the Note 4 and 6+....i hardly ever pick it up. My 6 year old uses it more than I do right now! :)

Maybe an issue specific to S3. No problem here with 4 yr old 2010 S1 which is still better than a lot of recent LCDs for watching movies and 2 yr old 2012 Note II.
Could be as my wife has the s3 and that has some burn in on the notification bar. Although she does always have screen on maximum brightness.
Haven't seen it on any other amoled phone I've had.

What other phones do you have with AMOLED screens? I use Waze whenever I drive. I use auto-brightness, so during the day, it gets to max brightness. My round trip daily commute is about an hour. I drive longer on weekends. The burn in is noticeable after using Waze regularly for less than a year. It is more pronounced now than a year ago. Overall, it doesn't bother me most of the time.

We don't need any of these phones lol a cheap £70 smart phone would suffice for most of us. So even owning one iPhone ot top of the range android phone is more of a luxury than a necessity. I don't see the point in owning two phones myself. I've done it before and one just sat there unused. However we all have our vices lol I'm probably more of a tablet person myself lol

I own lots of phones.....I have a problem.....

Mainly I just like to keep a toe in each ecosystem. If someone challenges my views on an OS, I can easily look into it myself. It's also fun to go with one of my "other" devices for a day every now and then. I find out what I really miss about my iPhone when I do that.

Although, since getting the 6+, I haven't wanted to go with my Lumia 635 or Nexus 5 at all.....can't be without my 6+. I'd swap my work device out if my company let me but they "prefer" (read demand) that I use an iPhone as they have certain settings/security measures that they push to our iOS devices.

The battery on my S5 fried and died yesterday so while AT&T was replacing it I got to play with the Note 3 again for a bit.

I know I'm supposed to be blow away by its screen, but I'm not. It's nice, but hardly this great game changer people keep claiming it is.

It is fast though, faster than the S5. The more I use the S-pen, the more interesting it gets too.

I've only seen one note 4 (a colleagues). Didn't spend a lot of time with it and only browsed around the home screens. I wasn't wowed by the screen, but I didn't spend enough time with it to properly evaluate it.

You should have played around with the Note 4 instead.
