Shrug. I would like a better display in the Mini Retina, but the lower color gamut won't really change how I use it. Not sure how that's a failure.

Are you kidding? What about all those poor developers and artists that slave over their creations to show you a specific color? You won't be able to see it! OMG! The horror! You won't be able to truly appreciate pictures or program screens! Those developers and artists will starve! Have you no decency?

/sarcasm off

:p

This gamut issue is like the lossy mp3 vs lossless 44.1/96k audio issue. Some people simply don't care about sound quality or quality period. Some people like Kraft parmisan cheese; I like the real thing - Reggiano Parmesan from Italy. There truly is no accounting for taste.

...There truly is no accounting for taste.

Yeah, 55 million iPad mini 1 buyers have no taste.

I find it offensive to read veiled insults just because someone doesn't care about something. I'm also so amazed at the number of photographers, artists, and color connoisseurs that have suddenly popped up here with a false sense of superiority. Who knew.

And many millions more have HD TVs but don't bother to get them calibrated...
And many billions more eat McDonalds hamburgers...
....and your point is?

It takes knowledge and experience and some passion to appreciate high quality and so you shouldn't put it down but should admire and aspire to it. If that comes off as superior, so be it. I didn't mean to insult but merely to get more consumers to demand higher quality so we can all have better products.

Remember what Steve Jobs famously said to Bill Gates about their two company's differences: "Taste" - as in "Bill, you have no taste." Well I'm with Steve; how about you?

Good luck with that. I am sure your condescending attitude will win you a lot of converts.

Windows has 79% market share as of October 2013. Mac OS and iOS COMBINED have 13.5%. Bill may have no taste, but he sure has something.

Yeah - a monopoly. Anyway market share doesn't mean Jack. Profits are where its at and Apple is the winner there.

It depends on how you measure it. In terms of total devices in use, Android has passed up Windows. Granted, a $99 phone sold in China and running Android 1.6 without Google Play might not exactly be at the forefront of technology, but it is still far more computer than most of us were using a decade ago.
