Thank god Apple has them up on the online store straight away.

Somebody should put loads of 1cent listings up just saying 'go to the Apple to get an iPhone for retail!'.
 
I saw a man and his son in line and overheard a little ebay talk... Since they really didn't know too much about the iPhone other than the reviews, and I did ask them if they had ever bought apple products before. They said no... :mad:

Guess what??? I saw both of them walk out with two each. I hope they both eat their shirts on it.

If you look at completed listings there's a handful that I looked through that have gone for $1.5k. Then another bunch around the $1k mark. Most on Buy It Now...I bet they're genuine sales.

But normal bidding auctions, everybody get another ebay account and send them through the roof! :eek:

And, hell, take the buy it now ones while you're at it.
 
There was a guy two behind me missing all of his top teeth, trying to get the ATT manager to let him buy two. Definitely first time apple buyer.. :)

Guy behind me had friends at one apple store buying 2 apiece and they were going to post all 5.. :mad:

I don't think that there are any supply issues, so they are all proud new iphone owners.. :p

I don't get it? Apple has an inventory site that doesn't show a single store without stock. Why are people paying above retail?

I'm sure the eBay prices will come down to reason within a week...once everyone realizes that this isn't a next gen gaming release - Apple actually knows how to judge demand. :rolleyes:
 
The guy in front of me said he was going to eBay his. Told me they are going for over $1,000 on eBay. I snickered.

It's not a PS3 folks. There are plenty to go around. People will turn to eBay to get it cheaper than other channels (i.e. BAD sellers market). It'll work itself out naturally. Besides, you couldn't pry this thing from my hands. :D
 
It seems people here are forgetting foreigners.

Sure there's plenty of stock in USA, but there really isn't any stock at all in any other country! So I'm sure you can make profit on eBay selling the phone for 1000USD. No problem. If the activation gets bypassed and you can use it as an ipod/wifi device then I'm sure a lot of people will be able to sell them around that price.
It's a beautiful device.

Get this . One of the first people in my line was there with his wife and baby in a stroller since midnight and walked out with six phones. Two for him, two for his wife and two for the damn baby! I couldn't believe it. I got mine(writing this from mine) but seriously whats up with that?
 
thats nothing, the guy behind me wanted to add 5 lines to his account so he could buy 5 phones. I'm glad stock is good, screw ebay.
 
I find it hilarious.... lots of ebay scum bags are going to get stuck with phones they don't want. Serves them right.

I'm guessing that Apple simply made millions of them. I wonder if a shortage might not start in a few days though.
 
man...there are currently 1818 iPhone up for sale on ebay. People are such a$$holes these days.
 
I don't think some of those transactions will go through if they do then wow, lucky scalpers!

But I don't see what's wrong with people scalping though, unless of course they directly denied you your own iPhone of course!
 
Can't stand these ebay people. Try getting a real job like the rest of us. I'm tempted to go get an ebay account just so I can screw with them. Ohwell I was able to et an iphone.
