Hopefully they dump holo which is an utterly disgusting UI. The cheesy Tron theme is really ugly.

Google's Chrome and most Google apps have a nice clean flat UI that looks really nice to me.

Pretty sure he was a leaker lol - seemed to know WAY too much about Android and releases......

Anyhow, this is what I have to say to those clamouring for an "overhaul" of Android....

"Give me a break! Give me break! Break me off a piece of that KitKat 4.4!"

Yeah I think so too. After the whole Hangouts thing, I started thinking that too. It sucks that he got banned though, I would have loved to hear what other information he had. That's just my selfish reasons though lol. :p

It's real. And Google is probably paying royalties to use that name.

Android went like this:

1.5 cupcake
1.6 donut
2.0 eclair
2.2 froyo
2.3 gingerbread
3.0 honeycomb
4.0 icecream sandwich
4.1 jelly bean
4.4 kitkat

The next should be

5.0 Defence Force Chocolate Ration

what??? how is that consistent with the alphabetical progression

Even though he isn't here anymore, I have to give it to him. He called it, or at least he knew it would be Key Lime Pie

I think you are giving credit where it is not due. Even Google employees outside of a few didn't know the name until this morning according to several reports. It has just been assumed it would be KLP but an idea from a marketing team employee sparked mutual interest between both companies recently.

I don't know, he was pretty dead on with the whole Hangouts thing too. I think Jrswizzle is right, he was most likely a leaker.

Call me nieve but I think its great that these two companies can do something "fun and unexpected" like this without money changing hands.

It's nice and lighthearted, for once, in a world of litigation and fierce competition. I dig it, too.

Ultimately, the important thing will be what 4.4 brings to Android, and how it's bringing it (new Nexus soon?).

I'm definitely hoping this, along with the Nexus 4 price drop, means a new Nexus is right around the corner. :)

I like how this was just announced and there's been no prior leaks (that I've seen anyway).

And Kitkat is more globally known than Key Lime Pie I think.

Can't wait to see what's new!
