KitKat is a problem cause it sounds too candy-ish and sweet? Um, Jelly Bean, Ice Cream Sandwich? Honeycomb? What am I missing here?
Maybe cause it's actually a brand of sweets? I honestly think Google (and KitKat) are having a bit of fun here. There's no direct money exchange (though the partnership could obviously lead to more sells and exposure which can lead to many, I get that. I also have no problem with that. Good for them), and it's clear both of them are having fun as evidenced by the mock video and website KitKat put out. The KitKat bar having edge to edge display is, in my opinion, hilarious.
In an industry of ceaseless litigation and fierce competition, it's nice to see some lighthearted-ness. It just makes the folks over at Google feel more friendly. More relaxed. I like it. Also, if you actually read the articles about how this came to be internally, it makes sense.
It's just a name -- not worth getting hung up on. The more exciting thing will be what 4.4 brings to the table.
