I'm looking to buy my first Apple computer but I'm worried about these recent reports of back lighting problems/yellow tint/uneven colors on the 24" model. I don't mind a slight backlight bleed, since these are LCDs, but I don't want to experiance anything more then that. How are your 24" screens?

Mine's fine. There's slight backlight unevenness right in the corners (only really noticable when the screen is black), but other than that, if there's any yellowing it's so slight I can't actually see it (after much experimenting, I think it MIGHT be slightly more yellow in the middle, but I'm not actually sure!).

The colour and everything else are about what you'd expect from an LCD, not perfect, but close enough (and way way better than the cheap 19" I run along side it!)

The 20" apparently has a cheap TN screen (same as my 19"), which would be fine so long as you're not doing graphic work that needs decent colour.

My 24" screen is perfect. Most beautiful screen I've ever used. I suspect most of them are. You only read about the bad ones on forums like this. I highly recommend it. I'm in love with my new computer.

I have one of the new 24" screen. It is the best looking screen that I have used, in my opinion. I have no fade from side to side, yellowing, or dimness that I can see. I highly recommend it. Also, the viewing angle is good too.

I was nervous before mine arrived after reading all the complaints about the screens on here, but mine is fine as far as I can tell. A very nice display. And the reflections/glossy screen issues aren't a problem either.

I played with one of the glossy screen models this afternoon and I don't see what all the fuss was about when they were first released. I thought it was awesome!

My screne looks fantastic. By far the best computer screen I have ever owned. I still cant figure out were the computer is though. Apple sent me just a screen, but it seems to work fine without a tower. Must be magic.

Mine is fine. It's always worth remembering that people post more about problems than they do if everything is OK.

I'm getting my third iMac next week, so I can't really say until then, but these two I've had now have had crappy screens...

My screen is gorgeous . . . NOW. But my first 24" had two stuck pixels, one red, one green. Took it back and within 20 minutes walked out with a new one. If you are really concerned, if it is an option for you, I suggest buying from an Apple store as they are really good about that kind of thing. That is one of the ways they have made me a fan for life.

No dead pixels, and no (apparent) color problems on my 24" screen. I have my iMac screen right next to my old PC screen and have had both on at the same time. The PC has a fairly new LG LCD monitor. The iMac screen looks much better.

Mine is...

Also just great. I was organizing wedding pictures so that my mother-in-law could get some additional ones for her album and she could not stop commenting about how great the pics looked on screen. It's the Mother-in-Law seal of approval. what more could you ask for than that?:D:D:):)

My first one had a 3 dead pixels, but they swapped it for a new one...and it's PERFECT, as far as I can tell.
