Any M1 orders from B&H being fulfilled yet?

I get most of my electronics from B&H, and so, with much excitement, I pre-ordered through them last week. (M1 MBP 16g RAM / 512 SSD)

I’ve gone through their pre-order process several times before and they are usually very quick to start shipping, basically when items hit retail stores B&H is shipping. However I still haven’t gotten any word of shipping, and the M1’s don’t seem to have made it to B&H from what I can gather. I reached out to their customer service and they just sent me a semi generic email stating they’d put me on the email notice for when the item is in stock.

I’m curious if anyone else who ordered from B&H has either had their order shipped, or has gotten a more definitive answer on when these new machines will arrive and get shipped out.

How long did it take for them to fulfill the order? I ordered two 2020 MacBook Airs (base model) on Cyber Monday and they are still listed as backordered. I’m wondering if anybody did the same and has had them shipped yet. I’m hoping they shop in the next week.

I’m the same way- tons of great experience from them. I heard from them yesterday and all they were able to say is “Unfortunately we don't have an expected delivery date at this time for your order as it is currently backordered by the manufacturer. As soon as we receive it in stock we will promptly ship it to you.”

My guess is that Apple is fulfilling orders from their own online store first with other sellers having to wait for inventory. I know from when I used to work there that they would do this from time to time for sought after products in order to get more business directly.

I’m hoping from @UCDHIUS experience that we won’t have to wait too much longer, especially you since you’ve been at it for nearly a month now.

The only reason I ordered from B&H instead of Apples Edu store (I’m a teacher) which had the MBA’s for the same price as the deal at B&H is that I don’t have to pay sales tax to order from B&H, and where I live sales tax is 10%. Otherwise I would have just ordered straight from Apple.

Long time lover of B&H myself. Great store.

Been waiting also for my order. Mine was custom. Upped it to 16gb of ram. I have a feeling it may not get to me till after New Years. The sale was too good to pass up though. Really great deal overall. I couldn’t get a straight answer from B&H either when I asked for even a ballpark figure. They honestly don’t know. I keep checking my B&H app daily.

Can’t wait to get this thing.

B&H is Great for in person but they’re shipping is terrible. In my experience, don’t package their orders properly. Either the item is in a much bigger box with now bubble wrap or anything (so it’s smashing around inside the box), or just stupidly packaged. I recently received a Sandisk SSD from them, and they sent it in a PADDED ENVELOPE. needless to say, the actual box itself was basically flattened from other items placed on top of it during delivery.

Meh, it’s all good, I’m not virtuous by any stretch of the imagination, but patience is something I’ve always been decent with.

I’m sorry for you and others, particularly those that made trades or sold their current machines and those that actually NEED to have these units to continue work.

I’m currently waiting on a callback from B&H and going to probe a bit harder for more information than I have previously. I will update the thread with anything useful as soon as I ascertain it.

I heard back from them yesterday. Unfortunately, it’s not good news

“I am very sorry we have yet to have an ETA on this MacBook Air. As soon as we receive it in stock we will have shipped promptly.”

My guess is that Apple won’t fulfill B&H’s orders until after Christmas, that way they can meet the demands of the customers who ordered directly from them.

I heard on the radio tech news that all M1 Mac devices are sold out and they don't expect any replenishment till after xmas.

Have any of you tried to find out availability at the Apple store or Apple.com delivery dates ??

My M1 base was ordered on pre-launch day and received 9 days of ordering online (EDU price).

I do wish I had waited a bit because B&H did have a much better price on Cyber Monday....

I did speak with a representative from B&H, and I was told they too are trying to get more information on the delay - “we’re as just as much in the dark on this as you are, when we find out more I can go ahead and forward that information to you”

Not a good sign.

I just went over to Apple and put together the model I ordered from B&H. Apple is projecting a January delivery. So it would be super disappointing if Cyber Monday customers got their orders later than that.

I placed an order for 8GB/256GB and 16GB/512GB models on Black Friday 11/27. The 8GB was shipped on 12/4, delivered 12/8. No movement on the 16GB model. I emailed B&H for lead time and they said they expect shipments to arrive in their warehouse 1/25/21. Take that for what you will since Apple's website currently says that configuration will be delivered by 1/13/21.

That’s a very long wait for a Cyber Monday order. Ouch.

So anyone ordering from Apple directly right now will get their orders well before ours. Very frustrating.
Fingers crossed that the customer service agent you talked to is mistaken.

Mine was Black Friday (3 days before CM) but basically the "weekend" due to Holiday in the US plus B&H is closed on Saturdays. I'm about to order on Apple to see if it does charge and ship before B&H does anything then just cancel my B&H order.

I ordered my Mac Mini M1 16GB/1TB on 20 Nov. I received one generic email from them saying it was still backordered.

I am used to long wait times at B&H it has taken them up to 9 months to fill all of their orders for certain high demand Nikkor Lenses.

I do not *need* the mini so I am happy to wait and have the tax refunded to me by using their PayBoo card. But if you want it sooner you would be best served by looking elsewhere.

My real complaint about B&H is that they will not tell you where you are in the queue. Nor will they tell you if you have moved up in the queue.

I hope that people use this thread to post updates - it would be nice to hear about some movement.

Yo dudes. FYI, if you ordered anything that had upgraded RAM, it’s gonna take about a month (or more now) to come because they literally have to build your computer, after you process the order. They only pre-made a large stock of the base spec levels which you can walk into an apple or Best Buy store and pick up today if you really wanted. But the higher specc’d out systems will take time since they need to be built and sent from their shop in China.

As far as B&H. I feel like Apple already had an influx of pre-orders of higher spec models, so I’m guessing B&H gets put behind Apples customers? I could be wrong. Never used B&H
