Interesting. I ordered an M1 MBA 16/7/512 model on November 30 from Adorama and haven't received a shipping notice yet. Granted, it is a true "CTO" model (the 7-core GPU model updated to 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD).

I saw that deal with Adorama. They also usually don’t charge you until the item ships. May be different with this deal but that’s something I’ve always liked about them. Amazon does this also.
it’s hard to tell if B&H over promised and under delivered or if they fell victim to possible supply chain issues at Apple due to the pandemic so they got bumped down in priority. Way, way down. Not smart to intentionally go into this knowing that shipping would be that far away.
They should probably stop offering BTO until things catch up or at least give customers a heads up that they’ll be in for a very long wait. Imagine the wait people who order their M1 now?
did Adorama notified you of shipment? when did it shipped and is there an ETA?
have the same config ordered December 7 (as shown in the order status on the site) but haven't heard anything from Adorama. Just shows order submitted to manufacturer. Also it was charged within a day upon order.
Same here. I haven’t heard anything yet. If I recall correctly the shipping notice will come straight from Apple.
Update: I just got a message from Adorama saying my MacBook is on its way and I should have a tracking number by the end of the day.

Heads up if anyone wants to make a compromise to get an M1 now. B&H has the 16gb air available to ship immediately. I went with the 512gb drive. I have external storage. But if that's agreeable for any of you, it's there for the taking. I had B&H swap my order out for the air. Now I will have it by Wednesday.
Based on my reading, there is not much of a performance difference between the Pro and Air. Unless you're doing hardcore video editing. I'm mostly photography so I should be fine.

I think it is coming directly from Apple. I'll confirm once I get the tracking number. The notice came from Adorama. They placed my order with Apple on December 1 (I placed my order with Adorama on November 30).
congrats! finally. B&H at least updates their customers once in a while, Adorama doesn't.

I placed an order for MacBook Air 7/16/512 Space Grey with B&H on Cyber Monday. There was no movement on it at all.
Called them today and got a disappointing news that the machine is expected in February. They also refused to switch me to the model currently in stock (same config with 8 GPU cores) while keeping Cyber Monday discount. So I canceled my B&H order and went with Adorama. Adorama has MacBook Air 7/16/512 Silver in stock and ready to ship.

Well, false alarm. I just got a message from Adorama that the MBA won't ship until the last week in January.
Ouch! One member in another thread saw shipment on the way. But it is for an mbp. Let's see how this goes. Still no message from Adorama for myself.
That's nice! May I ask what your payment option was? I ordered the MBP with paypal so they charged me immediately. I don't know if they will literally swap my order to the MBA that is in stock and refund the $250 cut from the previous order or I will have to manually cancel my previous order and then wait for the refund (which takes a really long time) to order the MBA. If it's the latter then I would just forget about it.
I ordered my A1 Mac Mini 16GB, 256GB SSD from B&H on 18 November. Today, my order switched from Backordered to Order In Progress.
So far all the B&H A1 Mac Mini reviews have been for the 8GB model. 16GB minis are finally on the way!

B&H is going to have some angry customers if they keep taking orders without being able to provide a reasonable shipping time frame.
Hello @cuccuttroisong Sorry for the late response but I also paid with PayPal and was charged right away for the pro as well. I logged into B&H and went to my order then selected the chat option to reach customer service. I told them that I didn't want to wait until February and if it was possible to swap my order to the air.
Within a minute I got the email showing the new order for the air and a refund for the price difference.
So yes, they will literally swap the items right on the spot for you. You don't have to cancel and reorder.
I'm writing this from the M1Air right now actually. Very nice.
It sure was and I was pleasantly surprised. Restoring from time machine via my airport extreme was an ordeal, however. Finally got that to work.
I'd say everyone look over their needs and workflow. If you are okay without the touch bar or do workloads that aren't going to require active cooling (honestly the air has not gotten that warm on me at all) then you may want to swap out for an air.
I didn't mind the touch bar and actually miss it a little now that it's gone but I just can't go on indefinitely without my Mac. I'm not sure why B&H is still taking orders for the pro in light of the major delays they have.
Many of you here may be very happy with the Air and it could cover all you need so this is a valid option if you are pressed for time. Really quick and a little monster running Lightroom and Luminar AI for me.
I just received a generic "Your Item Remains Backordered" From B&H. Hopefully there will be some good news later this month.
I’m just amazed that you got your MBA so quickly! What specs did you order? I’m still waiting on the two base model M1 MBAs that I ordered on 11/30. They are still back ordered.
