Little bit. However, I am perfectly fine with my current N7 2. Meets my needs (Reading, occasional light productivity) quite well. Also, I like flashing ROMs and tweaking. Personally, for a phone I need stability. For a tablet, I can afford to play around with it and not worry about losing something important.

Must check it out myself before Next Friday. I'd like to see one seeing as though I enjoy my Note 3 experience.

It is impressive. Screen is amazing and the features i love on my note 3 I would love on the note 10.1

Multitasking
Air command
Scrap,booker
Memos
Spilt screen
Sd card

Amazing video quailty. It's why until apple adds things like that the note tablet is better than the ipad for me.

Why are people saying the iPad Air doesn't have stereo speakers then?

Who's saying this? I was under the impression they were stereo speakers as well, though having them both at the same end of the device didn't make much sense to me.

Apple uses quality products from the keys in the keyboard to the hard drives. Most other companies do not and you are lucky to get 2 years from these cheap laptops. Ive had plenty of affordable laptops in the $400-$600 price range and they always crap out or need things replaced within a year or so. The old saying "you get what you pay for" comes to mind.

Ha ha. 2 years. You really have no idea. I used my college Lenovo laptop for 4 years. Beat the hell out of it. It was 24/7 on downloading torrents and had a very rough use and finally bit the dust after 5 years. :D

I'm just waiting to get the iPad Air so I can throw my Nexus 7 out the nearest window. The Android tablet experience sucks ass, imo. Never again.

Please give it to me instead of chucking it out the window.

By the way, do you have the new nexus or old? I have the new one and its my first tablet and ive had nothing but good experiences. Under benchmark testing the new n7 is right behind the iPad 4, and gives more expensive tablets a run for there money. It has a great screen, wireless charging, excellent specs, a lightweight durable build and is portable as ever.

I think you're over exaggerating a bit. I use both my room mates iPad 3 and my n7 and I prefer my n7. Please stop making the n7 sound like a piece of crap because its quite opposite.

Oh and enjoy spending more than double the price for the iPad air. Should we even be comparing a $500+ tablet against a $229 tablet? Its like comparing apples to oranges.

Must admit it wasn't enamoured with my Nexus 7 experience. It just felt like a phone experience and not a tablet. If stopped using it as soon as I got my Note 3. It then sold the Nexus 7 and have used the money I'm sold it for as deposit on an iPad Air myself. Decided to go for the air over the mini this year simply because they reduced it's size and weight and with my phablet, I want more defined and different experience to the Note 3....

Though I'm already wondering if I've made the right decision and think I might cancel my air and pre order a mini .... decisions decisions decisions.

You're right. I dug a little further and they are stereo speakers. Makes sense now. It perplexed me that they weren't.

Even though the iPad Air is lighter and a bit smaller, I think ultimately, if you couldn't get comfortable using the original size iPad, it won't make that much of a difference. Reading or playing certain types of games, for example, would ultimately still feel too big, even if it's a little easier and lighter to hold.

Between the two, I'd definitely go with the Mini. Just me, though.

My N7 is my first tablet and I can say that I AM enamored by it. I don't think it's like a phone experience at all, besides the same OS, I don't feel like I'm operating a huge android phone.

That's like saying you dont like the mini because its like using a giant iPhone because its the same OS. Essentially android tablets are large android phones and iOS tablets are huge iphones. But I don't think that spoils the experience. I greatly prefer Android on a tablet, the bigger screens allow you to really utilize the customization and features of the OS.

I'm typing this on my N7, I dont find myself using my 5S or my laptop as much. Its nice to have something in between and my N7 fits that spot perfectly.

And let's not forget the N7's $229 price tag. Sorry I find myself defending the Nexus 7, I find it a steal for the raw power that's under the hood on this thing for such little out of pocket.

Time, because it rules EVERYTHING!
Never and never will! I got my Nexus 7 2012 for last Christmas and haven't looked back once. I had a cheap Chinese tablet before which introduced me to Android, and when I was looking for a replacement I was reading about the iPad Mini rumours. But when it was launched I laughed at it, way over priced, a poorer screen then the Nexus 7 and a slower CPU. And this year Apple have managed to match the 2013 Nexus 7 power and screen res but at twice the price!

No, IMO now more then ever I think your a mug if you buy an iPad Mini, the Nexus 7 can more then match it for a lot less miney but more importantly, the iPad Air is not much more expensive with a bigger screen but not a massive jump in physical size. I see the iPad Mini as a knee jerk reaction to the tablet market that Apple should never have made, but their are plenty of mugs buying them.

So my main problem with the iPad Mini is its ludicrous price, as for those that claim its worth it as you get the same power as the full iPad, well the same can be said with the Nexus 7 or Kindle Fire HDX yet they don't have inflated premium prices.

The Nexus 7 is a great device--I own one and use it daily, replaced my first gen iPad Mini. Comparing it to the Mini isn't a fair comparison. The Mini is an 8" tablet--coupled with the 4:3 display ratio and the fact that the Nexus 7 has to use part of its display for on screen buttons, the difference is useable display size his huge, approximately 40% more display. And we haven't seen testing or real world use of the new A7 CPU in the new Mini but I'm going to guess it's going to be fast--same goes for GPU performance.

A more appropriate comparison is to other 8" tablets and their prices. The Galaxy Note 8.0 is $380 and the LG G Pad is $350, much closer in price to the Mini.

How do you think anyone will take your posts seriously when you resort to name calling? There are those who simply prefer iOS and want a small tablet, and for them the Mini is the right choice.

And how can a very popular product that sells well be "a knee jerk reaction to the tablet market that Apple should never have made"? If it had been a mistake, why would they have made a second one?

You cannot compare the prices of two device which are based on a totally different business-model. The Nexus series is based on the fact, that google does not earn money by selling hardware, but by making personalized Ad's, thus they need the android services to analyze the user.

Whereas Apple, Samsung and other's rely on actually making profit on these devices.

You can argue that you are ok with being the product of Google's business. But you can't just compare prices and say you get the same, but you pay less. Thats definitely not the whole story.

It is a fair comparison IMO, many people compare the iPad Mini to the Nexus range and always have. I'm also sure the iPad Mini will be fast, never said it wouldn't, but the Nexus is also fast, that was my point.

So you class the word 'mug' as name calling? Really? It's a bit lame compared to the racism that can brew happily on the forums on this site with no moderation. Anyway you can think what ever you want, I'm not self obsessed enough to worry about what a total stranger on a forum thinks of my posts. If I was I wouldn't be posting here of all places.

You do know Apple makes 30% on every single app and music track it sells right, and then 30% of every in app purchase made on an Apple product right? It makes plenty of money from services other than it's marked up hardware.

And as for your 'theory' of personalised ads? Really? Please do tell where these are because I have not seen ONE. Seems you've maybe been reading too many posts on here that are made of fud. Google makes money from ads in the Google search engine. You pay less for a Nexus 7 because Google wants to make money from you using their cloud services, music, movies and apps etc.

Dude, Google can afford to sell the N7 at its list price. Apple can't. The Retina iPad costs more to manufacture (presumably), and they need margins. It's folly to think that Apple could survive if they only skimmed profits off of iTunes and App Store sales.

Apple CAN sell things cheaper, they just won't. The N7 has a HD display too. True Apple doesn't have the ads making them money that Google does but they could still make things cheaper. They are making BILLIONS. And this is the reason I don't own many Apple products.....they are over priced.

Would Apple be Apple if they made half as much? Could they ship tens of millions of devices with cutting edge tech and advanced engineering? Nobody produces and sells the kind and amount of product that Apple does, and I think their growth and expansion will only be sustainable if they can continue to make the profits they're making. Google's making an objectively cheaper product and selling it with near-zero margins, because they can. Not very comparable business strategies.

Seriously? They NEED margins? Of course they do, they aren't a charity, but they are pretty much the most marked up prices for mass produced items of any kind. They could charge half as much and still make billions. Do you know why they up mark their devices so much? Because their are plenty of people happily throwing their money at them, if people stopped buying their products their prices would soon drop. Yes I have thrown my money at Apple too. Think about it, they were valued more than a petroleum corporation at one point, how much gasoline is sold versus how many Apple devices are sold?

Apple could easily ship as many products as it does now even if they cost half as much. In computer terms HP slaughters Apples shipment numbers and they cost less.

So could Apple be Apple by making 100 billion as opposed to 200 billion?

Absolutely yes.
