Edited the title & added the below to the OP. This thread was meant to stay in the iPhone section...I guess the same principle can apply vice versa though. So long as people understand where I'm coming from.
Since this was moved away from the iPhone section, I need to clarify - thread is intended to be from an iPhone user perspective. It was my way of expressing how I embrace success of opposition phone manufacturers & an attempt to encourage others to look at it as a positive, not something to hate or be jealous about.
Apple addicts need the Android companies to make sure Apple engineers get pushed to innovate and keep improving the Apple products.
And of course, the other way around.
I disree with you about Apple Maps. I don’t know about your geographic location, but Apple Maps is my primary use all the time and it’s been flawless for me. Google maps is great, but that’s a secondary option for me and Apple Maps is much improved over the years. I don’t even use Google maps anymore. As far as Siri is concerned, it’s always an improving area of concern. But I don’t really use Siri more than anything for asking simple tasks or commands, which it seems to work fairly well for those types of instances. However, Google voice is superior over Siri in providing more relevant searches and is accurate with dictation.
https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_od...rose+gold+case+for+samsung+galaxy+S9&_sacat=0@OP, Yes, I wait for Apple to catch up and Apple did like for the notification panel, reply notification and the control center... which Android had years ago... Apple's iMessage and Facetime is neat and all.. but it is still behind for my needs... and I do not think they will add features that Android phone notably the Note 8 is renowned for.
I do love my note 8 more than any other phone. It is not perfect though. I wish it had the rose gold color of my old iPhone (wahhhh, I am so form over function and this is more of a female issue and kind of pity I suppose) and I do miss iMessage to some extent because I replaced with many other options and recently I learned about pushbullet. I also love IFTTT on the Andriod phone so I really don't miss the iPhone at all.
My Apple Airpods actually works better on the Note 8! super stocked about this! oftentimes, when I have the airpod (I was forced to get one since no headphone jack), when I get a call it does not automatically goes to the airpod... very annoying issue. Also its just not as powerful with the iPhone with IFTTT you can program to play music automatically or in Android you can just in the setting let the phone pickup automatically when you have the airpod! Brilliant!
I was just tired of waiting for Apple and I didn't like the new X design at all. I think galaxy 9 looks better... I wish they have a rose gold version that's all.

I agree with you on Apple maps that it has improved and no map application is perfect. However, I do know that Apple maps taken me to the wrong location on more occasion than Google maps. I live in a big city and it is just from my personal experience. Other than that, I think Apple maps improved a lot!
I hear ya but it is an option. I always put a case on mine no matter the color but i like the face to be white or something other than black. Just to make it even sweeter......just so you know you can if you want to do this. This below is for the S8 but im sure they will have them for the S9. I ordered a white one for S9 that i preordered.oh thanks!!!! I actually very happy with a note and will not buy a phone w/o the s pen lol (I love to draw with the pen/ take quick notes with it and navigating the phone with the pen). so s9 won't work for me and I know I can do with a case. I have many cute cases but it is just not the same as having a rose gold phone out of the box! I know it's hard to understand. LOL. I ended up buying a pink samsung stylus. I will be adding a skin to it.
And just to make it even sweeter......just so you know you can if you change your mind. Oh wait, this is for S8. Il look to see if there is a S9.

I am going to be heading back to the iPhone this year. I briefly had a X for a month, when it first released. I really liked it, but couldn't get used to the tiny screen. If the rumors are true about a 6.3 inch X plus then count me in.
I agree on Siri. It's the nature of Apple's approach to privacy that it would take a while for Siri to be as good as Google. Google has Google Voice, which has been transcribing voicemails for decades, so they have a ton of voice data. Apple started from not much. Understandable.(Since this was moved away from the iPhone section, I need to clarify - thread is intended to be from an iPhone user perspective. The fact the latest Samsung is being well received means Apple needs to lift its game once again. & I love that.
There's no hate in me of any phone manufacturer, but instead respect for forcing competitors to keep upping the ante.
Apple needs to improve Siri more than anything imo, because Google Assistant's destroying it on many levels. Apple also needs to kill Maps. Just give me Google Maps in CarPlay & I'll be happy.
Respond, Apple!

Being the largest vendor also creates a unique love hate relationship with Google.Samsung has been killing it the last couple of years when it comes to hardware. It is usually miles better than Apple. I am convinced that the hardware engineers at Samsung can run circles around those at Apple (except the silicon of course). But their software is where I have a major problem with. They suck at releasing software updates.
In the Android space, if Samsung prioritizes timely software updates, they will be able to solve most of Android's fragmentation problem since they are the largest Android vendor. As a consequence, quality of Android apps will also get a lot better.
