I think you'll be fine.Well I guess I am in luck then in that case since my SSD inside my 5K iMac spins at 709.6 MB/s Write and 721.3 MB/3 Read. At least I hope so. But of Course I will back up in case I have to return to Yosemite.
A solid state drive will do wonders.I think you'll be fine.
From my personal experiences, El Capitan fixed a lot of weirdo bugs from Yosemite - I was getting kernel panics, top menu disappearing, safari being very unstable, wifi issues and a host of other things, and the update to 10.11.0 fixed those, can't promise everyone's experiences will be the same though.
However on a 2009 and 2011 iMac El Capitan is slow.

They're not fun to pull apart.Yes I have one in my Macbook - not sp much in my family member's iMac's - not keen on pulling them apart.

I repair my own as well ... just for someone that has never done it before it is quite an undertaking. I remember taking apart my first iMac. It was a buddy of mine's and he wanted to upgrade the drive inside. That was quite a process. About to upgrade my folks' iMac to an SSD because the hard drive is on the way out.If they were owned by me, I'd be ok as I've taken apart and repaired a lot of computers. However that massive glass screen scares me away, when the computers are not owned by me.
When we added a Thunderbolt SSD to our 2011 iMac and put El Cap on it, it practically became a new computer. I haven't checked but I'd be willing to bet the current spinner iMacs feel slower.I repair my own as well ... just for someone that has never done it before it is quite an undertaking. That worked. Now my second Apple TV is sending commands every 10 min like the other one. LOL I'll reboot that one also and see if it stops sending so many request for no reason.i'd try the reboot first as it is less traumatic
Yeah but I like to sleep when not I use. So that's not an option I would like to turn off. Thanks. If the Apple TV is wirelessly connected to the Mac, go to Energy Saver and disable "Wake for Wi-Fi network access".
Ok, just to update you, I can run all of my software that I have installed and that is alot. Anyway i did run into a problem that I will have to look into the next few days and if i Can't fix this problem I will have no choice but to revert back to Yosemite. MY Blu-ray dvd player by Asus, will not show up anymore no matter what i do. I did a PRAM Reset, and a SMC reset and still the problem. There are rumors that Apple did something to force people only to use Apple products instead of 3rd party external drives. If they did this, Apple may lose me forever.
My Pioneer Blu-ray drive does show up and works perfectly fine in El Capitan. Those rumors are ridiculous.
Did you check for any new driver with Asus? If they don't have one maybe it's not Apple's fault...after all it's been 7 months now...
I wouldn't go so far to say it's not ready for main stream. Just because YOUR external DVD drive doesn't work 100% of the time, doesn't mean it's the same for everyone else. Granted I don't have an external bluray drive, as I replaced my internal DVD drive with a bluray drive in my late 2011 MBP, but I think you're over exaggerating your statement just a little.Still EL Capitan is NOT READY for Main Stream. Unbelievable. Stay Away From El Captian. It is STILL NOT READY. I am going back to Yosemite. 10.10.5
