I've got a 36GB M3 Max. Uptime is going on 29 days. No swap file yet during this uptime period according to Activity Monitor. This is with the following apps always open: Edge and Safari (though usually only a handful of tabs on each at any given time), Discord, iMessage, Reminders, Mail, Calendar; plus rotating though opening and closing MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel, Preview, Music, Notes, Home, 1Password, workplace VPN, and an 8GB-RAM Windows 11 VM with Parallels. And spread out over three displays (and however much VRAM they require).
