I thought we fixed this issue with this guide to Making your own ML install DVD.

I haven't tried it yet.
[edit NVM: looks like that just throws a 32bit kernel in the mix, the best way I can see is using chameleon to run the 64bit kernel]

And I would be willing to bet that when they developed the 3,1 they did it on 2,1 or 1,1 machines at first.

In other words, there are probably EFI boot roms from 3,1 development process that were able to run 2,1 in EFI64.

They just have no reason to ever release such a thing and so probably never will.

They do know what is best for us, whether we like it or not. The little upstart company that made fun of Big Brother has become Big Brother.

LOL as much as I agree, it's just funny to start seeing these comments pop up on MR forums. It used to be you couldn't say one word against Apple without being clobbered by fanboys.

Okay, now I know witch don't work; all the other do work?
6870?
EDIT: after quick lookaround from the web, my choises would be 7770 or 7750. These have drivers?

I guess that wasn't clear enough.

You need another Mac card that already works. So 8800GT or 4870 or 5770 or 5870. Any of the later EFI32 cards if you want a boot screen.

Dude, no..... -edited/trimmed- ....Not only that. Your guide is shamelessly STOLEN from a guy named Jamie. His guide is here:
http://www.j4mie.co.uk/blog/2012/02/18/how-to-install-mountain-lion-on-macpro11/

You even stole the images.
You can see in the screenshots how you cropped out Jamie's watermark:

-edited/trimmed-

Jamie even explicitly stated that "If you are referencing this tutorial Please add a link back to my blog. This has been quite a lot of work to make this is all i ask!"
But you probably wanted some internetz credz. Guess that didn't work out.

Guess not :D Certainly shut him up :D

So only 4 choises?
And which ones of these do have EFI32?

I'd guess, I could survive without boot screen,
but how about using 2 cards? There's an empty pci slot in my MP...

Yes, Cindori would know all about internet theft of IP.

He just released an app that:

1. Has a variety of EFI AMD roms by Netkas, never mentioned as source. Whoops. (5770, 6870)

2. Has an EFI of mine without my permission (GTX480) I am never mentioned but the guy who stole rom and tried to pretend it was his IS mentioned (Adrian Stowe of 7Systems aka "Th3 Jok3r")

3. "Hexfiend" which is part of his app is not mentioned, in violation of it's licensing agreement.

In short, the only people he mentions are "some guys" and shows a complete disregard for prior work that led to his ap. He is EAGER for you to hit his "Donate" button.

In short, Cindori is WELL versed with being a glory hog and trying to claim credit for work of others. I would totally trust his assertions on this subject, he knows how it works.

I guess that means he can cash in his internet cred for cash and prizes. Clearly he's robbed people of their livelihood as they attempt to live off giving away their work for free ??

Cindori's offered a lot of great help on these forums and his tools have helped make flashing more accessible to laymen like me. He may not have come up with every piece of it, but, like Apple, he's made a difficult finagle-intensive activity into something more streamlined. He deserves every penny he gets through donations (which I really doubt is that much).

That said, he should've credited the authors whose ROMs/whatever he borrowed... even though, having found his utilities via NetKas forums, I never once misattributed the ROMS to him. Also, I seem to remember his Radeon flash utility crediting NetKas... I could be wrong.

Edit: on the Zeus page "Thanks My thanks to specially, Netkas, Rominator and Pipomolo for providing with key elements in creation of this app."

That was several years ago.

Freya says thanks to "some guys"

From the creator/author of HexFIend

"Wow. Thanks for letting me know. As far as I can tell, he is indeed violating the license by not including the Hex Fiend copyright notice.

Thanks,
_fish"

I asked Netkas, he was not asked either.

There is a thing called respect.

Works fine in general, if one of them is supported officially (enough) to show a boot screen. Not sure, but I guess a GT120 (default graphic card in later Mac Pro's) might still be supported even under ML. But you better double check before you buy!

There's an empty pci slot in my MP...
I seriously doubt that... :D:p
